JAMMU, May 5: A delegation of Duggar Vikas Manch (DVM) along with its associate member organisations submitted a memorandum to Governor NN Vohra through the Divisional Commissioner Jammu to highlight the rights of the Ladakhi students who are agitating for quite some time for their right to vote.
Led by DVM president, the delegation demanded Divisional Commissioner, Shantmanu to make the voting provision for the students of entire Ladakh region, comprising Kargil and Leh districts of the State at their respective places of study, as majority of these students are studying in Jammu, Chandigarh and Delhi.
The Divisional Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that he will communicate the sentiments of the representatives of DVM to Governor NN Vohra, Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer of J&K State.
The delegation comprised of presidents of its associate member organisations including Jagdish Dogra of Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Vinod Kumar Gupta of Central Mahajan Sabha, Pawan Kumar Jain of Shri Atmanand Jain Sabha, Bharat Hans of Valmiki Sabha, Anoop Aggarwal, general secretary of Aggarwal Sabha and Balvinder Singh of Sangarsh RTI Movement.
