Dy CM distributes cheques

JAMMU, Apr 29: Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today distributed cheques worth Rs 27 lakh to beneficiaries of Pargwal zone under different Rural Development schemes.
On instructions of the Deputy Chief Minister, a committee scrutinized genuine beneficiaries and a total of Eighty Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) cheques were distributed. Each beneficiary was given a cheque of Rs 25,000 as financial assistance for construction of dwelling unit.
Seven Panchayats of Pargwal area were given cheques for purchase of furniture, stationery, minor repairs etc. A sum of Rs One Lac was distributed to each selected Panchayat.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tara Chand said the Government is committed to all round development of the State and focused attention is being paid to those living in rural and far-flung areas. He said with active support from the Central Government work on the roadmap to upgrade rural infrastructure is apace, adding that model village coming up in the area would be a boon for the rural folks of Pargwal belt.
