JAMMU, Nov 13: Deputy Election Commissioner of India Vinod Zutshi accompanied by Chief Electoral Officer J&K Umang Narula launched the website of “Aitmaad” state vide campaign under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP).
This informative website reflects the various events, activities, campaigns and programmes organised across 22 districts in state and gives information on ethical and informed voting.
The website www.aitmaad.in also provides details about all the BLOs, Polling Booths and Voter lists in state which can be accessed by general public, political parties and all stakeholders. Grievances and complaints can also be lodged which will be acted upon by the Chief Electoral Officer.
Toll Free help lines of district and State are also provided and online grievance redressal made available. Links have been provided to election websites of 22 districts where the various forms can be accessed and downloaded, nomination forms and affidavits of candidates seen and regular circulars of Election Commission of India can also be accessed for information on Model Code, Election Expenditure, Conduct of Polls and SVEEP.
“Aitmaad” is an umbrella SVEEP campaign at state level under supervision of Chief Electoral Officer, J&K and aided by district campaigns launched by District Election Officers like Matdaan Mahotsav (Kathua), Wake-Up Jammu (Jammu), Jashn-e-Jamhuriat (Reasi), Doda Votes Doda Decides (Doda), Farz (Rajouri), Apka Vote Apka Fakhr (Srinagar) and Apka Vote Apki Taqat (Baramulla) among others. The website will serve as a knowledge exchange forum for all the district teams and for greater awareness among masses.
Dy EC appreciated the efforts of State SVEEP team and DEOs for a proactive electoral awareness and participation campaign to elicit greater participation in the forthcoming Assembly Elections in State.
CEO Umang Narula highlighted the specific campaigns in districts launched for identified sections of voters and hoped for a higher turnout in elections and a greater electoral literacy in the long run which will strengthen the democratic system.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, who is state Nodal DEO for SVEEP presented a resume of SVEEP activities in state and efforts undertaken by various DEOs for promoting ethical voting, electoral literacy and facilitating participation. He briefed the Dy Election Commissioner and CEO on the website and efforts being put by all DEOs to make the State campaign Aitmaad a great success.
Deputy Commissioners Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Shyam Vinod Meena, Javed Ahmed Khan, Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Yasha Mudgal, SSPs Vivek Gupta, Suleiman Choudhary, Yougal Manhas, Javed Mattoo, DyCEOs Rishpal Singh, Rakesh Sarangal and other senior officers were present during launching ceremony.
