JAMMU, Mar 12: Three days ‘All India Dhyan and Moan Sadhna Shivir’ organised by Bharatiya Yog Sanastha (BYS) at Yog Ashram, Gole Gujral near here, concluded today.
Baldev Singh Baloria, Deputy Mayor, JMC Jammu was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony of the Shivir. BYS national president Yogacharya Des Raj Ji, national general secretary, Lalit Gupta (CA) and J&K president, SatyaPal were present on the occasion.
Shri Satyapal, president (BYS) read the welcome address. He also gave a brief introduction of the organisation to the guests.
Yogacharya Des Raj in his address said that BYS has been regularly conducting annual Dhyan Shivir’s from last 11 years where in Maharishi Patanjali’s Yog Sutra’s are taught in depth to the participants.
This annual Shiver is held generally at Jammu Ashram. This year a total of 410 Yog Adhikaries spread across the length and breadth of the country, representing 13 states, participated in the ‘Dhyan and Moan Sadhana Shivir’, he said. In this Shivir, Patanjali Yog Sutra’s 27 to 45 were reflected upon at length with special reference to the principles of Yam and Niyam, he added.
He said they are a sort of self-imperatives for right living or ethical values say non- violence, non- falsehood, non- stealing, non- excess in food etc and self-restraint in ones’ actions, words or thoughts,. Again, regular practice of Dyana helps in controlling the thought process and one turns inwards.
While speaking on the occasion, chief guest Baldev Singh Baloria, Deputy Mayor, Jammu appreciated the role played by the Yog Sansthan for involving lakhs of people in daily Yog Abyas. He said that he himself has been a Yoga Sadhak and shall continue to be throughout his life. Yoga, he said, is a noble mission on this globe now promoted by our PM Narindera Modi through UN declared ‘International Yoga Day’.
Jia Lal Sharma, secretary conducted the proceedings. A S Manhas MC Paloura, SP Karlupia corporator, MS Katoch Chairman Kawa Group of Colleges, Professor B Babu HOD Yoga, Media & Communication Central University Jammu, Dr Ajay Director Religion & Civilisation Central University Jammu, Swtantra Aaggarwal social activist, leading businessman and president, Aggarwal Sabha Jammu and other prominent citizens of Jammu were present.
