JAMMU, Mar 26: Deputy Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Advocate Purnima Sharma chaired “Housing for All” & “Skill Upgradation & Self Employment” standing committee meetings today in the conference hall of the Corporation.
Councillors Pritam Singh, Jagdish Kumar, Sharda Kumari, Narotam Sharma, Amit Gupta, Rahul Kumar and Kuldeep Singh were present in the “Housing for All” and “Skill Upgradation & Self Employment” standing committee meetings along with the officials and representatives from JMC including Joint Commissioner Works, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, MVO. Officials from Housing Department, DIC, JKHUDD and NABARD departments were also present.
Advocate Purnima Sharma who is also the Chairperson of the standing committees directed the concerned that a fresh list of beneficiaries should be provided to all the Councillors so that they can provide relief to all the beneficiaries.
During the meeting, members of the standing committees raised many issues such as non-release of payments of the beneficiaries under PMJAY and salary of employees of housing department, and lack of awareness among Councillors about various skill training programs and other welfare schemes by the Central Government.
Also, details and information were provided to the member councillors regarding the various training and financial schemes by NABARD department.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks presented by the ACR JMC.
