JAMMU, May 5: The Puja and Mahurat of the Jammu Smart City Project” Heritage Trail work”  in Old Jammu city area was performed by Dy Mayor JMC, Purnima Sharma in presence of Ritu Singh, wife of Azad Shatru corporator,  Gopal Gupta today at Panjtirthi. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 16.50 crore.
The project area starts from Panjtirthi Chowk to Mubarak Mandi to Raghunath Bazaar via Pacca Danga, Moti Bazaar, Raj Tilak road. Jain Bazaar, Dhaki Sarajan, Kanak Mandi, Purani Mandi,  Old Hospital road etc. The scope of the work includes improvement of roads, construction of pedestrian friendly foot paths on road sides, Street lighting work  drains, communication cable ducts in Mubarak Mandi and Raghunath Bazaar area.
It also includes improvement of parks at Rani Park and Purani Mandi. Cobble stone flooring in roads from Panjtirthi to Mubarak Mandi and at Raghunath Bazaar besides, construction of gate at City Chowk.
Large number of people including corporator of Ward No. 5 JMC were present on this occasion. The Dy. Mayor gave full credit for this to Prime Minister who she said has rendered whole hearted support in all round development of Jammu City under various programmes and particularly under Jammu Smart City Project of thousands of crores. Various projects for beautification of Jammu city are under execution presently. Besides, public representatives, officials of Jammu Smart City Ltd., contractor and staff  participated in Puja ceremony.
