DyCM asks PDD officials to be sensitive towards public grievances

JAMMU, Mar 11: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, today stressed on the PDD authorities to remain sensitive towards the grievances of the people and make efforts to address these issues.
These directions were given by the Deputy Chief Minister while reviewing the status of transformers, damages and maintenance and buffer stock available with the department in a meeting with PDD officials here.
Finance Minister, Dr Haseeb Drabu, who was also present in the meeting, said that a provision of Rs 16 crore for the purpose of maintenance and buffer stock of transformers etc will be kept available.
Reiterating the commitment of the Government to improve the system of public service delivery across all departments, Dr Nirmal sought details regarding buffer stock of transformers, repair workshops etc so that department faces no hindrance in providing hassle free power supply to people in the coming summer season.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister directed Chief Engineer, Maintenance wing to devise a mechanism for fixing responsibility in case of laxity shown by the field level officials in discharging their duties.
Dr Nirmal while referring to the incident of a damaged transformer due to recent rains in Bhagwati Nagar area of the city, urged upon the officers to ensure that such issues are addressed urgently, keeping in view  the problems faced by the people.
