JAMMU, Mar 27: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand today sought votes from people as a reward for coalition candidate Madan Lal Sharma, contesting elections from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency.
In a series of meetings addressed by him in newly created Pargwal tehsil and other borders areas including Kulle Megan, Gurha Manhasa, Daan Pur, Tindi, Rajpura, Nai Basti, Balwal Bharat, the senior Congress leader highlighted the achievements of NC-Congress Coalition Government in the State and UPA Government at Centre under the competent leadership of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Deputy Chief Minister in his address recalled the developmental activities taken by the Coalition Government with the backing of UPA. He said that in the past 10 years of Congress led UPA has taken the nation to a logical end of peace and prosperity, adding that even the Jammu and Kashmir State has witnessed tremendous development in the field of health, medical, education, employment and vis-à-vis other sectors also.
While highlighting the acheivemnts, Tara Chand said Panchayati Raj Institution has been empowered with the incorporation of 73rd Amendment into Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act 1985, which ensures democracy at grass roots level.
“Development is quite evident from the notable development achievements like opening of new Medical Colleges, Primary Health Centers, Cancer Institution, Administrative Units and others”, said Tara Chand.
Appealing for the victory of Madan Lal Sharma in the Lok Sabha elections, Tara Chand said the MP has worked tirelessly for the border areas’ people for their all round development He said, “Madan Lal Sharma carried various developmental works from his MP funds, CRF funds”. He said that that Sharma has also battled for the cause of border area’s people and votes for him shall be a reward for his dedication and commitment towards the people.
Among others who also spoke in the meetings included block president National Conference and Congress, Suram Singh, Krishan Manhas, Congress’s Pargwal chairman, Chajju Singh, president Rattan Lal Sharma, besides sarpanchs Rattan Lal, Joginder Lal, Naseeb Singh, Falail Singh and Ajmer Singh.
