JAMMU, Apr 5: Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today flagged off eight day long educational tour of students from different Government schools of Jammu district.
The tour has been organized under the “Bharat Darshan” scheme in which 42 students along with teachers would visit historical places of Kurukshetra, Delhi, Agra, Mathura, Vrindavan, Jaipur, Pushkar and Amritsar.
While interacting with the students and parents, the Deputy Chief Minister said that such tours expose the wards to different cultures and areas of the country and go a long way in overall personality development. He said during the tour the students would visit various historical places and get first hand experience of their country’s rich historical background.
“Our Government has taken exemplary initiatives in the field of education under prestigious schemes of RMSA and SSA and different programs have been launched to upgrade school infrastructure in the state,” he added.
He directed the accompanying teachers to be vigilant in performing their duties as responsibility of young students rests on their shoulders during the tour.
Chief Education Officer N.R. Digra and other senior officers of the department were present on the occasion.
