KATHUA, Oct 23: Reiterating the commitment of the Government to ensure equitable development of all the three regions of the State, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh said that synchronized efforts are being made to achieve the developmental goals.
The Deputy Chief Minister said this after kick starting the macadamization work of Dyala Chack- Challain road at Dinga Amb in tehsil Hiranagar today.
He said that roads are vital for development of any area and stressed that a well knit plan has been envisaged to improve the road link in the State to improve connectivity to all the far flung areas. He said that the Government is aware of the problems of the people of Kandi and hilly areas and all efforts are being made to improve the infrastructural facilities for providing better amenities to the people .
Dr Nirmal Singh directed the executive agency to strictly adhere to the quality norms while executing the project. While responding to the projected issues of low voltage and power curtailment, he said Rs 600 crore has been earmarked for electrification in uncovered habitations. He appealed people to make judicious use of electricity and timely deposition of the electricity bills.
Dr Singh also called upon the officers of tehsil and district administration to formulate multi-departmental convergence plan to accelerate the development of the area. He also opined for rolling out calendar of awareness programmes on flagship programmes and schemes involving all the departments to educate the target beneficiaries.
The Deputy Chief Minister also informed that the Government will address the long pending issue of Khair wood in conformity with the orders and directions of the judiciary.
Later, Deputy Chief Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed boundary wall of Government Middle School Pranjali in Panachayat Katli.
Earlier, DC Kathua Ramesh Kumar apprised the Deputy Chief Minister that Kathua being in the green zone, the ration quota is relatively low as compared to other parts of the state which needs to be revisited. He also informed that district administration is rolling out a plan to streamline the process of issuance of PRC and make it less cumbersome and time consuming.
Officers from the department of Education, Rural Development, Social Welfare etc apprised the gathering about their schemes and exhorted upon people to avail benefit under the MGNREGA, IAY, Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan and other welfare programmes .
