JAMMU, July 26: Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh today honoured meritorious students of 10th and 12th standard who got positions in recent held examinations of X and XII at a “Medhavi Chhatar Samman” function. The function was organized by Hindi Daily Amar Ujala in collaboration with CLCC here.
Hindi Daily Amar Ujala and CLCC also felicitated the position holder students of 10th and 12th standard for their stupendous academic performance.
Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta, Minister for Education Naeem Akhtar, Minister for Social Welfare, Forest, Ecology and Environment Bali Bhagat, Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sukhnandan Choudhary, Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash, Member Parliament Jugal Kishore and Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture Priya Sethi with other senior functionaries of civil and police administration were present on the occasion.
Dr. Nirmal Singh congratulated the students and asserted that study should be qualitative not quantitative and for this students should be mentally & physically fit. He emphasized upon the importance of taking admission in a good college which will facilitate timely completion of studies.
He also appealed other average students to get inspiration from these meritorious students. He said that the Coalition Government is making every effort to improve the education scenario in the State, adding that various Centrally and State sponsored schemes have been launched to achieve improvement in this regard.
Speaker Legislative Assembly and other Ministers said that these students have achieved such high ranks with their efforts and dedication and others should also follow them.
Medals were given to all the students who gave outstanding performance in Class X & XII Board Exams.
