DyCM, others condemn stone pelting on yatri bus

JAMMU, June 12: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh has strongly condemned the stone pelting incident on yatri bus near Khanabal in Anantnag district yesterday resulting in injuries to two yatris. He  said that Government will not allow any one to disturb peace in the State.
In a statement issued here today, Dr Singh said that some vested elements are misleading the youth to disturb the peace in the State and Government will not allow their vicious designs to succeed. He said the coalition is committed to restoration of peace in the State and return of Pandits with honour and dignity is on top of its agenda.
Dr Singh appealed the people to shun those elements who are misleading the people for their vested interests and work for promotion of peace and brotherhood in the State.
Besides, various KP organizations have also condemned the stone pelting at Yatri bus and statement of Sandeep Mawa of JK Reconciliation Front. In a statement KP Sabha chief K K Khosa while condemning the attack on yatri bus said no religion permits attack on people who are on pilgrimage to a holy place and those indulging in such activities are worst enemies of humanity.
Mr Khosa also urged the Government to ensure security to pilgrims in Valley. He while condemning the statement of Mr Mawa termed it totally unfortunate and said that situation is not conducive for return of Pandits in their ancestral places as yet and the aspirations of community be taken into consideration for their rehabilitation in Valley. He said no individual should make a statement on behalf of community in this regard.
ASKPC president Ravinder Raina while condemning the attack said the Pandora box of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti stands broken and real face of Kashmiriyat has been exposed. He said the humble pilgrims who ought to have been greeted with flowers and garlands were showered stones and bricks.
All India Kashmiri Samaj has also condemned the attack on Yatris near Khanabal and termed it the most unfortunate. It urged the Government to provide necessary security to pilgrims.
KPC chief Kundan Kashmiri has also condemned the attack on pilgrims and urged the Government o ensure security to yatris. He said the attack has hurt the sentiments of Pandits and there is a lot of resentment among the community.
Jagti Coordination Committee (JCC) president, Ravi Zutshi, Relief holders president Jagti, Ajay Bhat, JTC chief Shadi Lal Pandita, NC Minority Cell working president M K Yogi and others have also condemned the attack on yatri bus near Khanabal.
