DyCM reviews progress on Leh beautification works, AMRUT project

LEH, May 20: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Kumar Singh, today inspected the construction site of multitier parking facility at Leh under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and ongoing works for Solid Waste Management Plant under Leh beautification project across the mountain of Skampari.
He was accompanied by Minister for Ladakh Affairs and Cooperative Chering Dorjay, Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC Leh Dr Sonam Dawa, Executive Councillors, DC Leh Prasanna Ramaswamy G, Engineers and other concerned.
Dr. Singh, who is also the Minister for Housing & Urban Development, was informed that tender for the parking facility with the capacity of 263 cars has already been floated and Kinetix Company has been engaged as a consultant for all the projects in Leh under AMRUT.     The Deputy Chief Minister directed for early completion of the much awaited projects and asked the DC to ensure time bound completion of the facility.
Later, Dr. Singh also inspected the initial works of solid waste management system of Leh town for which Rs 10.94 crore have been sanctioned.  He directed for expediting work on the project for its timely completion.
While reviewing the progress of ongoing earth excavation works for sewerage and drinking water projects, the Deputy Chief Minister was informed that all the excavation works in Leh town will be completed by the mid-June 2017 and handed over to R&B and Construction Division for blacktopping of the roads.
