SRINAGAR, May 7: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand today held a meeting of senior officers of Education Department to review the pace of school buildings being constructed under RMSA and SSA in the State.
Minister of State for School Education, Feroz Ahmad Khan, Secretary Education Hirdesh Kumar, Director School Education Kashmir, Mir Tariq Ahmad, Director School Education Jammu G. A. Quresh, State Project, Director SSA, S. C. Sahni and Director RMSA, Hilal Ahmad Parray were present in the meeting.
The meeting discussed threadbare the issues related to functioning of Government schools, filling up of vacant posts, promotion of teachers to higher grades and posting of teachers to far-flung and remote areas.
Deputy Chief Minister asked the concerned officers to expedite the construction of school buildings under SSA, arrange third party inspections and also take up school mapping under the guidance of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Tara Chand also stressed for conversion of RMSA schools into model schools so that better educational facilities are extended to the students of the State.
Appreciating the efforts of the departmental officers in speeding up the promotion process of the employees, Tara Chand asked the officers to strictly adhere to the guidelines already issued by the Government for expediting the posting of these officials.
