JAMMU, Oct 26: BJP celebrated the 66th Accession Day by organizing ceremonial programme at the venue of Maharaja Hari Singh statue overlooking Tawi bridge. The programme started by laying wreaths at the statue and obeisance by BJP leaders and workers. Several people also joined the party programme as a mark of their respect to late Maharaja. The function was organized by Jammu District BJP under its President Rajesh Gupta.
Leader of BJP Legislative Party Ashok Khajuria, who presided over the function, said that it is irony that while BJP observes this day at the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh every year, his own family members shy away from doing so and keep themselves busy in other functions. He said that the dynastic rule in New Delhi and in the state is dangerous, which needs to be replaced by parties like BJP with Narendra Modi as Prime Minister.
BJP National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh said that Act of Independence was concluded after long deliberations with unanimous assents by the all stake holders. He said that when Pakistan raises question on accession, its very own existence comes under question.
BJP National Executive Member Shamsher Singh Manhas said that the people should not get misled by the false propaganda of NC and silence of Congress over the accession. He said that statement issued by NC leaders are threat to nation security.
National Executive Member & J&K Chief Spokesperson, Dr. Jitendra Singh, demanded that the “Accession Day” on 26 October should be declared a state holiday and in lieu of it, a notification be issued cancelling the holiday of so-called Martyrs Day on 13 July, which is unconstitutional because when India’s official Martyrs Day on 30 January marking death anniversary of the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi is not a holiday, how has N C Government. declared 13 July a Martyrs Day holiday.
