JAMMU, Nov 7: Udhampur police organized an awareness programmes on growing menace of drug abuse and addiction especially among youths.
On the direction of SSP Udhampur Joginder Singh, the drug awareness campaign was held at Inspector Shaheed Kamal Singh Higher Secondary School Udhampur with a motive to generate awareness against drug abuse and to make society aware about ill effects of this social evil and also to make aware every student aware about drug abuse and its subsequent effects on generations.
The programme was organized by Udhampur Police and was chaired by DySP Hqrs. Udhampur Gurmeet Singh, besides, Principal, lecturers, teacher of school and other officers.
While speaking on the occasion, Gurmeet Singh stressed the need to sensitise people about the bad effects of drug addiction, adding that the students have to play a pivotal role to curb this menace which has gripped the whole country. He said that the main objective of organizing this awareness programme was to reach out to masses and spread awareness about the impact of drug abuse on the individuals as well as on the society. He spoke in detail on different aspects of narcotics & addiction and other important aspects related to drug abuse.
He also threw light on burning topics like cybercrime, types of cybercrimes such as hacking, credit card fraud, cyber terrorism, cyber stalking, cyber bullying, child pornography, financial crimes arising out and related cyber crimes such as crime against persons, crime against property and crime against Government and tips / preventive measures against cybercrime.
