RAMBAN, May 17: Private Schools Association (PSA) held a meeting here in which heads of private schools from Banihal, Tither, Ramban, Chanderkot, Rajgarh, Chamalbas, Bankoot, Ukural, Batote and Maitra took part. The Executive Members of the central body of PSA also participated in the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Kamal Gupta, President PSA J&K and was addressed by Ajay Gupta State coordinator PSA J&K, Pardeep Singh Incharge Ramban and Ajay Singh Kotwal Incharge Reasi Unit.
During meeting, the representatives of different zones of private schools of far-flung area of district Ramban highlighted various issues before Executive Members of the central body.
The speakers said that all private schools functioning in far flung and rural area of Ramban are contributing 50 per cent games fund to Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) like Government institutions. But the department never provided any type of sports kit to private institutions in district Ramban, they alleged.
This type of discrimination is creating a hurdle in the physical growth of those students who are studying in private schools functioning in far flung areas, they added.
Kamal Gupta said that Director School Education Jammu Simrandeep Singh has assured to dispose of pending files lying at different quarters for the grant of recognition, permission and has given his consent to listen the grievances of private schools owners on May 23. All the issues regarding Red Cross, games fund, etc would be raised before him in the meeting, he added.
Ajay Gupta appealed to the Director School Education to consider geographical and financial conditions of private schools functioning at far flung areas while conducting fresh inspections for granting recognition and permission.
