UDHAMPUR, May 29: Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Udhampur has commenced district-level Inter-School tournament, Inter-Zonal tournament at Subash Stadium, here today.
Amidst the ongoing Kabaddi U-14 boy’s matches at the Subash Stadium, DYSSO Udhampur Romesh Chander Mishra was the chief guest, who engaged with the children, participants of the district totalling 134 from various zones. Emphasizing the imperative of mitigating the effects of intense heat waves through adequate hydration, Mishra expressed gratitude to CMO Udhampur for providing medical facilities for the participants.
In the Kabaddi U-14 boys category, Zone Jib emerged as the winner while Zone Panchari secured the runner-up position, with a match clinched by a remarkable 14-point margin.
The Kabaddi officials including Rakesh Kumar (convenor), Pushap Kumar, Rakesh Sawhney, Rakesh Khajuria, Kulbushan Kumar, Ranjeet Singh, Angrez Singh, Ram Kumar, Sandeep Verma, Roshi Gupta and Arti, along with the registration committee chaired by Ravinder Manhas, have ensured smooth operations.
The field staffs comprising Jaswinder Singh, Anshu Brat Khanna, and Vipan Photra, alongside the diligent office staff, led by Anita Goswami, overall in-charge of the tournament, Som Dev Khajuria, Ramesh Chander, Sanjeev Kumar, Vikas Sharma, Karun Magotra, Jatin Sethi, Ghaneem Akhter, Abdul Qadir, Sanjeev Khajuria, and Meenakshi Sharma, has been instrumental in orchestrating this prestigious event.
