JAMMU, May 1: The Engineer-in-Chief, Lieutenant General Suresh Sharma concluded his four day visit to the Northern Command, here today.
He was briefed on the prevailing operational and security environment after arriving in Udhampur on Friday and was appraised of important combat engineer matters including operational works by the Chief Engineer, Northern Command.
The E-in-C discussed various issues related to military infrastructure with the Northern Army Commander and also interacted with GOC, White Knight Corps and formation commanders in the Jammu region. This is Lt Gen Suresh Sharma’s maiden visit to the Northern Command since taking over as the E-in-C.
It may be noted that last year as Director General Border Roads, he was instrumental in expediting various road infrastructure works in J&K including the strategically important Ladakh and Zanskar regions. In addition to visiting Army Formations, the E-in-C was briefed about the works and visited MES Chief Engineers at Udhampur. He visited Air Force Station Udhampur and called on the AOC. He visited Combat Engineer Units in their training areas
