JAMMU, July 12: JKPCC Working President and former Minister Raman Bhalla today lambasted the present dispensation for allegedly inflicting sufferings on common people, particularly the poor and deprived classes.
While addressing prominent persons of Dilli area of RS Pura Jammu South constituency, he said that the educated youth of J&K is frustrated and hopeless as majority of them are getting over-aged while the business community has also suffered adversely because of wrong policies of the incumbent Government.
“Present scenario of J&K has pushed the youth towards depression and anxiety as they are worried about their future presently looming in darkness. The people of J&K were promised that they will get jobs, development, peace, prosperity and many other things, but nothing happened on the ground and people are running from pillar to post to get their things done, ” Bhalla said.
Further, he alleged, the business community is incurring losses, corruption and scams are happening everywhere, administrators & bureaucrats are not being held accountable. This is the state of affairs in J&K.
The Congress leader also punctured the Smart City narrative and said: “There are potholes all over the streets, drains are broken and when it rains, the entire city turns into flood hitting the normal life of commoners. Is this what Smart City is like? Smart City is not made by installing Sign Boards, but by providing all kinds of facilities to the people.”
The former Minister said that everybody was unhappy and restless under the present regime and eagerly waiting for conduct of Assembly elections to elect a popular Government. He said, Congress is the only party which believes in secularism and can fight for the rights of the downtrodden class of the society.
Highlighting achievements under Congress rule, Bhalla said “lots of revolutionary steps in Jammu & Kashmir were initiated to inculcate the spirit of unity, integrity, prosperity as well as brotherhood to work for overall development/welfare of the people of J&K, in general, and especially the downtrodden sections of the society in particular.”
