JAMMU, July 27: BJP vice-president, Yudhvir Sethi today urged the party men to unmask the opposition parties which are responsible for ruining J&K during their over 60 years misrule.
Addressing a party meeting along with former Deputy Mayor and senior party leader, Baldev Singh Billawaria and district President Jammu, Parmod Kapahi, in Jammu East constituency today, Yudhvir Sethi said the people of J&K suffered a lot due to over three decade long turmoil -the seeds of which were sown by Congress, National Conference (NC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Sethi said they worked against the interests of nationalist people of the erstwhile State by denying citizenship rights to West Pakistani refugees for 70 long years and BJP led by Narendra Modi as Prime Minister deserves credit of giving rights to these hapless people as well as Valmiki Samaj after their constant seven decades struggle.
Yudhvir said likewise the people residing along International Border (IB) were deprived of reservations which were extended by NC and Congress to the people living on Line of Control (LoC). This was a share discrimination done deliberately with a section of people belonging to a particular community, he added.
He said the another hard reality of this discrimination to which Jammu region was subjected by these parties during last over four decades was Shahpur Kandi Project whose construction was stalled as the project was to benefit the Kandi belt of Kathua and Samba districts which these parties don’t want for vote bank.
Criticising the recent statement of former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah who while talking to reporters seeking his reaction on budget said that his MPs will raise the issue in Lok Sabha in case the funds were not earmarked for power projects in J&K, Sethi asked Omar why his Government stalled the construction of much talked about Rattle Power Project in Kishtwar, Ganpat bridge and why did not NC Government started work on New Ganderbal Power Project in his home constituency.
He said had NC been so sincere in development of the erstwhile State it would not have stalled work on Rattle or created hurdles in Shahpur Kandi Project etc. Sethi asked party men to go to public and unmask these parties who are unnecessarily creating a wrong narrative about BJP. These parties should be exposed before the masses, he added.
Yuva Morcha leaders Amarjeet Singh, Kanav Sharma were the other speakers in the meeting.
