JAMMU, July 7: Evidence Based Budgeting (EBB) for preparation of State Programme Implementation Plan (SPIP) of National Health Mission (NHM) for the financial year 2015-16 was selected as good practice of J&K State for replication in other States in the three days National Summit on Good and Replicable Practices and Innovations in Public Healthcare System in India held in first week of July at Shimla.
The National Summit was inaugurated by JP Nadda, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare.
Dr Yashpal Sharma, Mission Director, NHM, J&K, while presenting the innovation of the State in the National Summit, said that the gap assessments were carried out in health institutions of all the districts of State.
Gap analysis data of 1413 facilities was gathered electronically on gap analysis application using android tablet and priorities were fixed on thematic approach on different indicators of RMNCH+A Interventions. This activity gave clear view of the facilities (DH, CHC, PHC& SC) for which action plan was chalked out and evidence based budgeting was prepared and has been approved by MoH&FW, GOI in SPIP of National Health Mission for the year 2015-16.
In the National Summit, the State of Jammu & Kashmir was also awarded first prize in Population Stabilization, second prize in Out-Patient Services and 3rd prize in the category of Indoor & Surgical Services. These awards were declared last year for best health indicators in categories of child survival, infant survival, newborn survival, population stabilization, safe delivery, indoor & surgical services, out-patient services, malaria control and TB control. The awards were received by Dr Yashpal Sharma, Mission Director, National Health Mission, J&K at Shimla.
The Summit was attended by Principal Secretaries, Health and Mission Directors, National Health Mission (NHM) from all the States of the country. Senior officers from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare including CK Mishra, Additional Secretary and Mission Director, Manoj Jhalani, JS (P), Dr Rakesh Kumar, JS (RCH, IEC) along with technical and donor partners of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
