LEH, Nov 30: The Executive Councillor for Education LAHDC, Leh Konchok Stanzin conducted a three- day extensive tour of Tangtse and Chuchul constituencies and interacted with the locals.
He visited Shayok, Durbuk, Phulunglay, Chilam, Erath, Sashukul, Tharook, Tangtsey, Mukleb, Yurgo, Phobrang, Lukung, Spangmik, Phobrang, Maan, Merak, Khaktet, Chushul, Sato Barma, Kherapullu, Chibra and Tharuk villages and had detail interaction with the people of these villages about their wellbeing and demand. Besides, he also assessed the ongoing developmental activities in these villages.
During his tour, EC Konchok inaugurated dozen of public facility infrastructures completed in last four years. These included community hall constructed at a cost of Rs 23 lacs, Staff Quarter worth Rs 15 lacs and Ration Store (Rs 10 lacs) at Yurgo village. At Spangmik, EC handover Ration Store (Rs 10 lacs) and Medical Sub Center completed at a cost of Rs 37 lacs. EC also handover Woman Craft Centre, completed at a cost of Rs 20 lacs to the Ama Tsogspa of Maan village and at Khagtet EC inaugurated Ration Store (Rs 10 lacs). EC also handover Women Craft Centre (Rs 12 lacs) to the Ama Tsogspa and Ice Hockey Pavalion and Dressing room (Rs 20 lacs) to the youths. At Sato village EC handed over Women Craft Centre (Rs 12 .11 lacs) to the Ama Tsogspa.
During the tour, EC observed some common demands and issues of the people like drinking water problems, irrigation related problems, opening of Animal and Sheep Husbandry centers, feed and fodder for livestock during winter, shortage of teaching staff in school, communication problems /mobile tower, opening and upgradation of Medical Sub Centers, ration Stores, timely distribution of rations, value addition of Pashmina and Yak Cheese products and many more.
Konchok assured public that all their genuine demands will be fulfilled in UT Ladakh as their will be no shortage of funds in new system and added that proposed new projects will be projected in new budget of UT Ladakh with speedy implementation.
Responding to the demands of Barma and Chibra village for reopening of their already closed Primary Schools, EC assured to reopen their school in upcoming academic session.
EC also visited High School Satoo and Higher Secondary School Tharook and had meeting with village education committees with faculty members and assured to address all problems by next academic session.
During the tour, the EC was accompanied by Councillor Tangtse Tashi Namgyal, block level officers headed by SDM Tangtse Rigzin Spalgon, BDC Chairman Tangtse Konchok Punchok and other public representatives.
