In a handout J&K Shiv Sena chief, Manish Sahni said that top officials of ECI during their three-day visit to J&K met representatives of various political parties and a request for meeting was also sent by Shiv Sena which was rejected outright and Shiv Sena was asked to present their views through a memorandum only.
Sahni said that their demands included restoration of Statehood to J&K before Lok Sabha elections and democratic process should be restored at Municipal and Panchayat level and Assembly elections should also be organized.
He said that along with this, they also demanded adequate security for opposition leaders, especially Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders.
