Eco-friendly Diwali week concludes

UDHAMPUR, Nov 9: Eco-friendly Diwali awareness was celebrated by ICDS Projects, Udhampur.
During the week various awareness camps were organized by ICDS Project, Udhampur to make people aware about the problems for the environment due to carelessness of the general people on this festival of luck and happiness.
On this occasion the staff was also appreciated for their work. Sushma Kumari, supervisor was given the award for the best supervisor.
Taro Devi, AWW of AWC Chariswal and Sunita Gupta, AWW of AWC Wno. 16 ‘A’ were awarded as best Anganwadi helper. Rangoli competition was also organized and group was given 1st prize, Babli and group was given 3nd prize.
While concluding, CDPO Udhampur, Amit Singh Manhas said that the idea behind this celebration was to make aware about the Eco-friendly Diwali. He insisted to say no to crackers, use oil diyas instead of candles, make your rangoli with flowers, natural flowers or rice flour, when buying sweets re-use existing cardboards boxes from home give handmade gift, wrap your gifts in newspaper, shop for your festive need at your nearly local shop rather then the online store.
Sanjay Gupta, P.O. ICDS Projects, Udhampur also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of staff of ICDS Project Udhampur.
