JAMMU, Oct 28: Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces’ Welfare Association (ECPFWA) today staged protest in front of the office of Excise Commissioner, Jammu and expressed their resentment over ban imposed on purchase of liquor and other house hold items from the CSD canteens by Paramilitary/ BRO/ Sampark personnel.
Leading the protest, the Association chairman Sat Paul said that more than 10,000 retirees were affected by the decision of the Excise Commissioner and now all the retirees and their family members who constitute more than 50,000 voters are against the BJP for such a harsh decision of the Excise Department.
The members of the Association raised slogans against the Government and demanded revocation of the order and allowing facilities of the CSD as per previous practices which was going on since 1962. Meanwhile, another protest by the Association was organized at Press Club Jammu.
All the members appealed the Prime Minister of India to release the DA in favour of the all the pensioners as the Central Government has recently announced bonus to its employees whereas the pensioners are facing a lot of difficulties/hardships to fulfill their day to day expenses on a meager pension amid sky-rocketed prices of essential commodities.
Those participated in the protest were Shamsher Singh Manhas, D K Chauhan, Deep Kumar, Mela Ram, Noor Mohd, Yashpal, K S Bist, Hans Raj, Munshi Ram, Lovely Pandita, Harvinder Kour, Daleep Kumar and Kamlesh Kumari.
