JAMMU, Aug 10: Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces’ Welfare Association (ECPFWA) today staged a protest against the Central Government as well as forces’ heads demanding benefits equivalent to defence forces.
A large number of Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces personnel, Veer Naris and their dependents today assembled in front of Press Club, Jammu and raised slogans against the Central Government and heads of various central paramilitary forces. They said that Central Paramilitary Forces are guarding all frontiers of the country and maintaining low and order by helping the State police forces all over the country, besides the natural calamity, cross border firing, terrorism, Naxalite and gurilla attacks.
“But they are being deprived of their due rights like One Rank One Pension, Ex-servicemen status, Martyr status (if not in the books of law, an act can be enacted), revision of pension of pre-2006 retirees, “equal duty, equal wages”, separate Pay Commission, medical facility like ECHS and CGHS, Medical Allowance of Rs 3000, CSD facilities, simplification of rules for granting pension and exemption of Central Paramilitary Forces from the NPS”, protesting ex-personnel of central paramilitary forces said.
While speaking on the occasion, Shashi Kumar Sharma, president, J&K unit of the association, said that Central Government has taken no decision to resolve the demands projected by Ex-Central Para military Forces and on the other hand, the heads of paramilitary forces are also silent on these issues and not taking up the matter with the Government.
He demanded that there should be para military service pay equivalent to military service pay and pension structure of the central paramilitary forces may be reviewed while there should no special consideration while deciding pension of central paramilitary forces.
