JAMMU, Apr 23: The Election Department today started the process of revision of electoral rolls for the elections of Urban Local Bodies.
Official sources said the voters excepting those residing within the limits of Jammu and Srinagar Municipal Corporations can file their claims and objections from April 23 to May 3. The claims and objections would be disposed from May 4 to May 8.
Preparation and printing of supplements of addition, deletion and correction of electoral rolls would be taken up from May 9 to May 14 while final electoral rolls would be published on May 16.
Excelsior had exclusively reported that the Election Department was going to start revision of electoral rolls for the Urban Local Bodies.
Sources said revision of electoral rolls for JMC and SMC would be taken up only after the Government took a decision on increase in number of their Wards.
