JAMMU, Nov 11: Electronic Distributors Association, Jammu province has appealed the Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Secretary, Divisional Commissioner Jammu and DC Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan to immediately withdraw the order imposing conditional restrictions on the sale of heating electrical appliances including ACs, Geysers and heaters in Doda district.
Addressing a press conference here today, EDA Jammu president Ved Sharma said that this controversial order has come as a jolt for the business fraternity dealing in the electrical and electronic heating appliances as it will hit hard the distributors supplying these items in Doda district. He said that the first impact of this order would be that the retail dealers will stop, rather block the payment to distributors as due to this order, the retail dealers will get compelled to return these appliances to the distributors.
Ved Sharma urged the administration to realize the gravity of situation resulting out of this order as huge amount of money is involved so far as the purchase and sale of these electrical and electronic heating appliances like geysers and heaters are considered. He added that these are seasonal items which will have no demand after the short winter period of about three months. He added that the Government also needs to realize that these appliances are necessary for sustenance of life in the hilly areas during harsh winters and conditional restrictions on such appliances will also have a direct impact on the people of these areas.
He appealed J&K LG Manoj Sinha led administration on behalf of the distributors and dealers of heating appliances in Doda district to immediately withdraw the order issued by DC Doda in this regard.
Prominent among others present during the press conference were chairman of the Association Sunil Jain, general secretary Sahil Sharma, secretary Neeraj Gupta, vice presidents Vinay Gupta and Anil Mahajan, and Treasurer Amit Gupta.
