JAMMU, Oct 12: Coordination Committee of Estates Department Employees Union (EDEU) today held a protest demonstration in front of the office of the Executive Engineer, Estates Division, Jammu in support of their demands including regularization of services of daily rated workers whose cases are pending with the higher authorities for approval.
Chief coordinator of the Union, Yash Paul Sharma reiterated the demand of holding DPC of all categories of employees working in the department, particularly Helpers who have been ignored and denied promotion earlier. He said there is strong resentment amongst the Helpers working as ledger clerks, plumbers and pump operators in the department.
Sharma also projected the demand of release of time bound/in-situ promotion orders and incorporating Helpers in the recruitment rules as per SRO-217 dated 2nd July, 2003. He also laid stress on removing other department employees who, he alleged, have been planted in the Estates Department and awarded out of way promotions while ignoring senior most employees of the Estates Department.
Those who spoke on the occasion were Jeet Raj, Subhash Chander, Rajesh Kumar, Hardeep Singh, Ravi Kumar, Kuldeep Raj, Kewal Krishan and many others.
