JAMMU, July 23: All Jammu and Kashmir Electric Department Linemen Union (EDLU) in its emergent meeting expressed serious concern over tragic incident yesterday evening in which a lineman Dalbir Singh received severe electric shock and had to be hospitalized.
The meeting held under the presidentship of Tara Chand appealed the authorities to get the injured lineman shifted to some AC Room and that all the treatment be provided to him on Government expenses.
He said this was not an isolated case and such cases often ccur which become fatal also but still the workmen were not being provided safeguards to perform their duty efficiently. Demanding an enquiry to ascertain reason behind such accidents they also demanded special treatment and all accidental benefits.
Others in the meeting were Vijay Kumar, Anil Slathia, Surinder Kumar, Narinder Singh, Krishan Lal, Ashiq Hussain, Paras Ram etc.
