EDLWU discusses demands

JAMMU, Aug 18: A meeting of All J&K Electric Department Lineman and Workers Union, (EDLWU)  Jammu was held under the chairmanship of Vijay Gupta, chairman of the union, wherein they discussed demands, today.
While addressing the meeting, Vijay Gupta, chairman expressed his grave concern and anguish over the death of Mustaq Ahmed, lineman need basis, who while carrying the works on high tension line, was electrocuted and another worker was seriously injured at village Paristan, Banihal.
The leader in the meeting said that in the department accidents usually takes place due to negligence of the officers, this has spread wave of anguish and resentment amongst the Linemen and Workers Union.
The chairman demanded immediate investigations and inquiries in the death of Mushtaq Ahmed and demanded that Rs 10 lakhs be sanctioned as relief to the deceased’s next heirs, besides employment to one of the family members.
Others present in the meeting were Suresh Antal, Tara Chand, Girdhari Lal, Surinder Kumar, Paras Ram, Krishen Lal, Ravinder Sharma and Manga Ram.
