JAMMU, Sept 2: All J&K Electric Department Linemen and Workers Union (EDLWU) today stressed for implementation of SRO 381 in letter and spirit.
The issue came up for discussion during a meeting of the Union held under the chairmanship of Vijay Gupta, chairman of the Union.
While addressing the executive body members and others workers present in the meeting, Gupta urged authorities that the promotions in the department be made within the purview of SRO 381. He also urged upon the PDD Commissioner for implementing SRO-59 in all divisions of Jammu province.
Gupta further said that all the JEs be issued strict directives for engaging need based Linemen and SBAs only after declaring shut down, otherwise the department will be liable and responsible in case of any accident.
Other union leaders present were Suresh Antal, Tara Chand, Girdhari Lal, Anil Singh Slathia, Surinder Kumar and Kartar Nath.
