Edu Dept officer among 3 employees attached for MCC violation

RAJOURI, Aug 31: District administration here today attached four employees for violating Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
A formal complaint was lodged against Zonal Education Planning Officer (ZEPO), Ishtiaq Ahmed, stationed at Kotranka Education Zone, alleging his participation in an election campaign for a specific political party.
Upon receiving the complaint, Dil Mir, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and Returning Officer for Budhal Assembly constituency conducted a thorough investigation and found that the ZEPO had participated in the election campaign thereby breaching MCC.
Over this Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri, Bishamber Das removed Ishtiaq Ahmed from his post at Kotranka and attached him at CEO office, Rajouri.
Apart from this, disciplinary action was taken against Mohammad Shafiq, a government teacher at Udar Government Middle School, Kandi after a complaint was lodged against him for participating in an election meetings and campaigning.
An investigation validated the allegations and Shafiq was removed from his position at Kandi School and was attached to CEO office, Rajouri.
Meanwhile, a complaint was filed against Mohammad Riyaz, a watchman at Government High School Budhal, for uploading election campaign photos and videos on social media and following an investigation, Riyaz was removed from his duties at Budhal and was attached to CEO office, Rajouri.
Leave for all three employees has been suspended till the conclusion of elections as per the instructions of District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma.
In another related action, a show-cause notice was served to Mohammad Younis, a teacher at Government Middle School Panjnada, for allegedly participating in election campaigning. He was asked to provide a formal response to the notice.
