JAMMU, June 5: A self-proclaimed education activist was arrested by police in an alleged “extortion case” from Bus Stand area here.
According to police, Amit Kapoor was arrested on the complaint of one person for demanding Rs 5 lakh as extortion amount.
“A police team of Bus Stand area laid a trap and arrested Kapoor red-handed with the tainted amount,” he said.
A case under section 387 of the IPC has been registered against Kapoor and further investigation taken up, added the police spokesperson.
