Educational institutions across J&K, Ladakh celebrate Constitution Day

JAMMU, Nov 26: Different educational institutions across J&K, and Ladakh today celebrated the Constitution Day of India.
On the occasion of 70th Constitution Day, Department of Public Policy and Public Administration, Central University of Jammu today organized a panel discussion on ‘Dynamics of Indian Constitution’. The event was organized to mark the adoption of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949 which came into force on January 26, 1950. The preamble reading ceremony was attended by Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor; Advocate General, D.C Raina; Former Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof R.R Sharma; Prof S.K Sharma, Ex-Information Commissioner J&K and others.
The Law School of University of Jammu celebrated ‘Constitution Day’ to commemorate the adoption of The Constitution of India. Dr. Satinder Kumar, Director, The Law School read the Preamble of the Constitution and all the teachers, students and other guests joined him for a pledge. On this occasion Advocate Amit Gupta, Additional Advocate General J&K High Court highlighted features of the Constitution.
Constitution Day was today celebrated at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu where a pledge ceremony with regard to Fundamental Duties to be discharged by every citizen of India was held. Dr. Sunanda Raina, Principal and Dean, GMC Jammu said these activities aim to reiterate and reorient the citizens towards the values and principles expressed in the Constitution.
Government College of Education, Jammu also celebrated National Constitution with great reverence. Amit Sharma, Special Secretary Civil Secretariat was the chief guest, who enlightened the students about their rights and duties in the context of Constitution of India.
Principal of the College Prof Dr Sangita Nagari also threw light on the contribution of great men and women who worked tirelessly to give India her Constitution. On the occasion, oath was administered to BEd and MEd students besides teaching and non teaching staff members of the College.
Constitutional Day was celebrated in SPMR College of Commerce to commemorate 70th anniversary of the adoption of Constitution. Pledge was administrated by the NCC cadets and NSS volunteers of the College of Cluster University of Jammu to affirmed faith in the universal principle of civilized society.
Constitutional Club under its Convener Prof. Gurvinder Kour of GDC Khour celebrated Constitution Day by reading out the Preamble & taking pledge of commitment to fulfill Fundamental Duties as enshrined in the Constitution.
GDC Ramban also celebrated Constitution Day wherein the Principal, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed and Assistant Prof. Dr. Vikram Rathore highlighted the importance of the day.
GDC Jourian celebrated the ‘Constitution Day’ wherein all the students and members of the staff participated in the programme with full zeal. The celebrations marked the reading of ‘Preamble’ to the Constitution.
GDC Batote also celebrated the Constitution Day and a quiz was organized in this regard.?
To commemorate the adoption of Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly on 26th of November, 1949, Government Degree College (GDC), Marheen organized a programme to take pledge of the Preamble to the Constitution of India.
A pledge was taken by the students and staff of GCW, Gandhi Nagar to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. A large number of students took the pledge to pay tribute to the invaluable contribution of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and other founding fathers of the constitution.
‘We the people of India, give ourselves…..’ These words ranted the atmosphere at GDC Udhampur where thousands of students along with their teachers and guests took oath on the occasion of India’s Constitution Day. This was followed by other activities. Traffic Police headed by J.S Johar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic, National Highway accompanied by other officers visited the College and distributed various written material among the students pertaining to Fundamental Rights, Fundamental Duties, Preamble and other significant aspects of the Constitution of India.
Government Polytechnic Jammu celebrated the Constitution Day wherein Arun Bangotra, Principal of the Polytechnic told students said that India’s Constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949 and it came into force on January 26, 1950, marking the beginning of a new era in the history of India. He said that November 26 is observed as ‘Constitution Day’ or ‘Samvidhan Divas’.
Govt College for Women Parade Ground, Jammu celebrated 70th Constitution Day of India. A series of programmes started on this day which will culminate on April 14, 2020 which is the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar. A lecture was delivered by Prof. Tajudin, former Head and Professor of Post Graduate Department of Political Science, University of Jammu wherein he said that Constitution is a soul of any democratic system and Fundamental Rights are the commitment on part of the Constitution for its citizens and Fundamental Duties are commitment from the side of its citizens.
Sai Shyam College of Education Ghou-Manhasan, celebrated the Constitution Day. The Preamble of the Constitution was read out among the students, staff and other officials of the College.
National Constitution Day was celebrated on at GDC Thanna Mandi by holding a special assembly session in the College.
The ‘Constitution Day’ was celebrated at GGM Science College wherein the students, NSS volunteers, teaching and non-teaching staff of the college took pledge on the Preamble of Constitution.
In order to celebrate 70th Constitution Day, GDC Samba organized an impressive pledge ceremony wherein the faculty and the students took an oath of allegiance to the Constitution of India.
NSS units and NCC wings of Government College for Women Udhampur celebrated the ‘Constitution Day’ wherein reading of Preamble of the Constitution and taking pledge to perform Fundamental Duties was done. On this occasion, Prof. Subhash Chander, Principal of the College emphasized on the significance of Fundamental Duties and Rights in our lives as the citizens of India.
GDC R.S Pura celebrated 70th Constitution Day wherein different programme were held under the guidance of Principal, Dr. Sunita Sudan.
GDC Women, Kathua celebrated Constitution Day with enthusiasm. The cultural committee of the College under the guidance of Principal, Prof. Ranjeet Singh Jamwal organised a symposium, slogan writing and poster making competition on the theme Constitution of India in which the students of the College expressed their views on the importance of Constitution of India for citizens of India.
GDC Akhnoor celebrated the Constitution Day to mark 70th year of the adoption of the Indian Constitution. Over 200 students and staff members of the College took pledge to respect and follow the basic ethos of Indian Constitution.
Staff and students of Govt. College for women, Bhagwati Nagar celebrated the Constitution Day with fervour. An intra-college quiz competition was organized on this occasion.
GDC Banihal celebrated the Constitution Day with full enthusiasm and approximately 100 students and staff members participated in the event wherein the Preamble reading was followed by a pledge.
Dogra Law College celebrates the Constitution Day with great zeal and enthusiasm in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Samba to mark the adoption of The Constitution of India by the Constituent assembly.
Students and staff of Govt MAM College Jammu and GDC Kunjwani/Sainik Colony under the aegis of Higher Education Department jointly took the pledge on Preamble of the Constitution to mark the celebrations of Constitution Day. A patriotic atmosphere charged with ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ slogans.
As part of the celebration of 70th Anniversary of adoption of Constitution of India, the NSS Unit of GDC Bishnah organized a symposium on the topic ‘Constitution of India-the Bedrock of our Freedom’. All the faculty members along with students took pledge on the Fundamental Duties enshrined in the Constitution of India. Preamble to the Constitution was also read for the audience.
Government Degree College Kargil organized a debate competition to commemorate the Constitution Day. The programme started with the reading of the Preamble of the Constitution followed by the pledge on Fundamental Duties.
R.M Public School celebrated Constitution Day wherein a special assembly was held to aware the students about the importance of the day.
Govt. Hr. Sec. School Mandal Phallian celebrated Constitution Day under the guidance of J.R. Sharma, Principal. Students of different classes shared the history, Fundamental Duties and Rights among their peer groups.
Army celebrated ‘National Constitution Day’ at Government High School, Salwah, Government High School, Darhal, Government Middle School, Basoni and Youth Centre, Palma in Poonch and Rajouri Districts. On the occasion, a variety of activities were organized to include motivational lectures, essay writing, quiz and debate competition.
Management committee of ‘NITL’ Higher Secondary celebrated 70th year of the adoption of Constitution of India. The main objective of this celebration was to make the youngsters aware about Indian Constitution.
