Educational institutions celebrate 67th Independence Day with patriotic fervour

JAMMU, Aug 16: Various educational institutions celebrated 67th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and zeal.
67th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and gaiety at the University of Jammu. Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, hoisted the National Flag in presence of Prof NK Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare, Prof Yash Pal Sharma, Co-Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Prof MK Dhar, Registrar, Prof Keshav Sharma, Controller of Examination, Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Rector, Kathua Campus, Prof Kuldeep K Sharma, Head, Department of Zoology, Deans, Directors, faculty members, staff members and students. Earlier, security staff of the University led by Captain SR Dubey, Security Officer presented guard of honour. Vinay Thusoo, Public Relations Officer (PRO) conducted proceedings of the function.
67th Independence Day was celebrated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU). Vice Chancellor Prof Sudhir K Jain unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Registrar Roop Avtar Kaur, Deans, Directors, faculty members, staff members and students. The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by a thought provoking cultural programme. A prize distribution ceremony was also held where the winners of a debate competition held in the University on National Youth Day were given certificates.
67th Independence Day was celebrated at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu. Prof Dilip K Arora, Vice Chancellor unfurled the National Flag in presence of Directors, Deans, faculty members, staff and the students.
Bhargava College of Education, Samba celebrated 67th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and zeal. Parkash Sharma, Chairman of the college hoisted the National Flag in presence of staff members and students.
Dogra Educational Trust celebrated 67th Independence Day. On the occasion Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Trustee Dogra Educational Trust was the chief guest, who unfurled the national flag in presence of staff and students of Dogra Law College, Dogra College of Education and Dogra Degree College.
Independence Day was celebrated at Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Raipur, Bantalab. The Tricolour was unfurled by Sanjay Dhar, member HESK, in presence of Prof GL Koul, Principal, GMCEJ, staff members and students, A colourful cultural programme was also presented by the students and staff of GMCEJ.
67th Independence Day was celebrated at Sacred Heart College of Education. Udhayt Singh Chib, Director of the College hoisted the National Flag in presence of Dr KK Tiwari, principal, staff and students.
Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Shastri Nagar celebrated Independence Day by organizing a simple but impressive function in the school premises. Principal of the School, Kanta Devi hoisted the National Flag while the students and teachers jointly sang the National Anthem. Sweets were also distributed among the students and the staff.
The Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in GGHSS, Rehari. The Principal of the School, Sanjay Kumar Zutshi unfurled the Tricolour in the presence of staff and students. National Anthem was also sung. Later, the Principal distributed sweets among the students.
The Independence Day also celebrated in GGHSS, Mubarak Mandi, with great enthusiasm. The National Flag was hoisted by the principal in the presence of staff members and students. National songs were also sung on the occasion. The principal of the school distributed the sweets among the students.
Government Sri Ranbir Higher Secondary School, Parade Ground, Jammu, celebrated the Day with great fervour. Principal of the School, Dalbir Singh Sudan, unfurled the National Flag and took salute from the platoons of NCC and School Band. In his speech, he advised the students to follow the footsteps of our great freedom fighters who laid their lives for the independence of the country.
Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Sunjwan, celebrated the Independence Day with pomp and show. The National Flag was unfurled by the Principal of the School, Sham Choudhary, who also took salute from the contingent of the NCC Wings of the School. He also highlighted the importance of the Day and distributed the sweets among the students and the staff members.
A colourful programme was organized by GHSS Bahu Fort in its premises to celebrate the Independence Day. The National Flag was hoisted by the Principal of the School, Ram Gopal Dogra in the presence of the staff members and students of the School. A cultural programme was also presented by the students. The principal of the School while speaking threw light on the importance of the Day and asked the students to follow the footsteps of our freedom fighters.
On the eve of 67th Independence Day, Flag hoisting ceremony was organized in the school premises of GHSS, Sarwal. Besides students and staff, local dignitaries were also present. The principal of the School, Bishan Singh Jaral unfurled the Tricolour Flag and stressed upon the students to make their utmost contribution to serve the Nation. Sweets were also distributed among the students.
Independence Day was also celebrated with fervour in GHSS Gharota, where Principal of the School, Anjali Gupta unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Staff, students and local Sarpanch. National Anthem was sung by the students and staff jointly. Later the Principal distributed sweets among the students.
The Independence Day was also celebrated in GHSS Marh, where the Tricolour was unfurled by the Principal of the School, Ram Parkash Sharma. All the staff members and students participated in the function and jointly sung the National Anthem.
The Day was also celebrated by Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar, where the Tricolour was hoisted by Principal of the School, PD Sharma. The students sung National Anthem and also presented some patriotic items. Sweets were also distributed among the students.
GHSS Ghou Manhasan, celebrated the Day by organizing a simple but impressive function, wherein the Principal of the School, Sushma Sharma, unfurled the National Flag in the presence of locals, staff and students. Later she distributed sweets among the students.
On the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, the National Flag was unfurled in GHSS, Jhajjar Kotli, by principal of the Institution, Geetu Bangotra. The students presented various types of cultural programmes and sung national songs. Later prizes and sweets were distributed among the students.
67th Independence Day was celebrated in GHSS Kohag (Malhar) with fervour and gaiety. Local Sarpanch, Tara Chand Padotra, unfurled the National Flag followed by singing of National Anthem by the students. Sweets were also distributed among the students.
To celebrate the Day, GHSS Durang, Billawer, organized a simple but impressive function in the School premises. Sarpanch of the area, Virender Singh, hoisted the Tricolour in the presence of the local populace and students, teachers and Principal of the school. Later he distributed sweets among the students.
GHSS, Jaganoo, Udhampur celebrated 67th Independence Day with the participation of the local public staff and students of the school. The programme started with hoisting of National Flag by incharge Principal, Sushma Gupta. In her speech, she threw light on the sacrifices of the freedom fighters to attain freedom from Englishmen. The students also sung patriotic songs.
GHSS Panthal, Reasi celebrated the Day with pomp and show. Local Sarpanch, Rajinder Kumar Thappa, unfurled the National Flag in the presence of teachers and principal of the School, Sunil Nanda. Later he distributed sweets among the students.
The Tricolour was also unfurled in the premises of GHSS, Marta, Ramnagar on 67th Independence Day by the local Sarpanch, Bishan Dass. Jammu Public School, Sainik Colony celebrated 67th Independence Day. Santosh Sharma, Principal hoisted the National Flag in presence of staff members and students.
Independence Day was celebrated at BSF School, Jammu. Chairman of the school IG BSF Jammu SS Tomar was the chief guest, who hoisted the National Flag in presence of Principal of the school Dr SS Khokhar, Headmistress, BSF Primary School, staff members and students. The students presented colourful cultural programme. IG BSF Jammu also distributed Sharda Vaid scholarship to the meritorious students, who have scored 10 CGPA in CBSE class 10th examination.

67th Independence Day was celebrated at Raina Higher Secondary School, Paloura. BD Raina, Secretary Management Committee hoisted the National Flag in presence of staff members and students.

67th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the premises of Government High School (GHS), Kundra (Reasi). The Headmaster of the School, Ved Prakash, hoisted the National Flag in the presence of staff, students and local populace, which was followed by singing of National Anthem by the students. Among others present on the occasion were Shakti Paul Singh Chairman, Panchayat Adalat, Bhabber Brahamana and Sarpanch Bodh Raj Bhagat. The speakers stressed on Hindu-Muslim unity.
GHS Bhaga Kotli, Reasi also celebrated the Independence Day with great fervour. The Headmaster of the School, Gopal Krishan, unfurled the National Flag. The National Anthem was also sung by the students. The Headmaster, in his speech, asked the students to come forward for the upliftment of the society. Local Sarpanch and Panchs were also present on the occasion.
An impressive function was also organized at GHS Raipur to celebrate 67th Independence Day. Headmaster of the School, Sat Pal Sharma, along with staff members unfurled the National Flag. In his speech, he asked the students to work for the upliftment of the country. Locals also participated in the function.
Government Girls High School, Salanger, Chowki Choura, celebrated the Day by organizing Flag hoisting ceremony. The National Flag was unfurled by the Headmaster of the School, Om Prakash Sharma. The local populace including local Sarpanchs and Panchs also attended the function. All the students, staff members sung the National Anthem jointly. The Students also presented some patriotic items based on the freedom fighters. The Headmaster in his speech asked the students to work for building the Nation strong.
GHS Marh, Zone Dansal celebrated Independence Day by organizing a colourful programme. The National Flag was hoisted by Chowdhary Noor Mohd, Sarpanch of the area, followed by National Anthem, which was sung by students of the School. The Headmistress of the School, Sharda Sharma and staff members were also present. Later Headmistress distributed sweets and fruits among the students.
