Educational institutions celebrate Gurpurab, Children’s Day with zeal & enthusiasm

JAMMU, Nov 12: Various educational institutions celebrated Gurpurab and Children’s Day with zeal and enthusiasm.
To commemorate Children’s Day, a colorful programme was organized by the staff members of KC International School. The programme started with floral tribute paid to Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru by the Principal, Vice-Principal, Headmistress and all the co-ordinators of KCIS. The routine assembly was held, followed by a skit by the teachers of Grade XI and XII. The middle block teachers entertained students with a stunning ramp walk. The students of the Primary Wing came dressed up in coloured clothes. The teachers dressed up as students presented the assembly and other programmes. A few other programmes which were carried out for the day included different games for students, songs dedicated to them and different titles accorded to them by the teachers. Principal Maya Mishra threw light on the importance of the day.
To celebrate Children’s Day, a cultural programme was organized by DPS Udhampur teachers for their kids. Special dance performances, games and poems were presented by the teachers. A cricket tournament was also arranged between students and staff. Chairman of the School Dr JC Gupta said that children truly deserve a day that is dedicated to them only. MD of the school Vivek Gupta, Principal Yogeshwari Rathore, Vice-Principal Sucheta Gupta and Sunita Gupta were also present on the occasion.
Sanatan Dharam Higher Secondary Kanya Vidyalaya, Jullakha Mohalla celebrated Children’s Day with enthusiasm. All the management committee members were present on the occasion. Students presented cultural items and took part in games. Some students threw light on the life of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. Principal dwelt on the importance of the day.
SM Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Patta Bohri celebrated Children’s day and Gurpurab with great fervour in the presence of Managing Director Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer Harvinder Sihotra, Principal Manikarnika Bhasin, Co-ordinator Sonika Jain and staff. A special assembly was conducted and demonstration was given to the students regarding Children’s Day and Gurpurab. Speech, poem recitation as well as drawing competition were held. Managing Director Parneesh Mahajan threw light on the life of great personality Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru.
Vishwa Bharati Public Higher Secondary School, Akalpur Morh celebrated Children’s Day and Sports Day. A programme comprising various sports activities and speeches on Children’s Day was organized in the school ground. The programme started with welcome address by Incharge Principal Veer Mattoo, followed by the speeches on ‘Children’s Day’ by the students. Sports Day celebration was inaugurated by chief guest Sonam Dalkar, Zonal Education Officer Marh. All the members of Vishwa Bharati management committee and teaching faculty from Vishwa Bharati School and College of Education were present on the occasion. The students displayed their fabulous talent by performing various sports activities. The whole programme was chalked out by the sports teacher Joginder Singh. Prof AN Sadhu, Secretary Vishwa Bharati College of Education was also present on the occasion. The programme was compeered by Achint Kour, while vote of thanks was presented by Meenakshi Pandita.
The students of Shiv Public Higher Secondary School, Sari-Rakwalan, Ghou Manhasan celebrated Children’s Day. Various cultural activities were presented by the student. Chairman of the institution Balbir Singh was the chief guest. Managing Director Shiv Salaria and Principal Mehak Salaria distributed prizes among the students.
Children’s day was celebrated in GHSS Mubarak Mandi with enthusiasm. Principal Neelam Gandotra and other staff members paid rich floral tribute to Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru. The students presented cultural items and sang patriotic songs. They also threw light on the life of the first Prime Minister of India. Principal impressed upon the students to follow the teachings of Chacha Nehru.
Children’s Day was celebrated at Crescent Public School, Disco Road, Janipur. Teachers in school uniform conducted morning assembly. Cultural item was presented by the teachers. Class representatives from 2nd to 7th along with teachers and coordinator visited orphanage at Ambphalla and distributed clothes, eatables and some necessary items for girls. Principal of the institution Bhavna Koushal asked the children to follow the teachings of Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru.
To mark celebrations of birth anniversary of Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru as Children Day, Navdeep Public School Paloura organized a ‘Bal-Mela’ in School Campus. On the occasion, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Secretary General, Press Club Jammu and Chairman Team Jammu was the chief guest while HS Pathania Chairman Navdeep Public School Paloura and Sandhya R Pathania were guest of honours. Suryabhan Singh and Ankita from Google India Private Limited Gurgaon were special guests. Rich tributes were paid to the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, which was followed by series of folk performances with taste and flavour of rich heritage of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh. Food stalls, fun games, parent activity and treasure hunt were the main attraction of Bal Mela. The event was conceptualized and directed by Nritya Shree Deepak Dutta.
Sunrise Public School, a unit of Sunrise Educational Trust celebrated Children Day at Channi Himmat. Lt General (Retd) MR Sharma was the chief guest of the occasion, while Lt Col AS Jawal, Dr (Prof) ML Sharma and Koushal Gupta were the guest of honours. Rich tributes were paid to Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru. Children presented culture activities. Abhishek Padha, Director of the institution, Rajesh Sharma, Manpreet Kour, Solani, Babita and Shivangi were also present on the occasion.
Humanity Public School, Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana celebrated Children’s Day. On the occasion, a special assembly was conducted by the teachers, during which teachers along with students paid tribute to Chacha Nehru by garlanding their portrait and showering flowers. Many fun activities were presented by the teachers. The management and staff collectively contributed for the occasion and with the collected money they purchased gifts, sweets, and books which were distributed among the children. Principal Gaurav Charak and Vice Principal Anku Gaurav Charak were also present on the occasion.
Kotwal National Institute of Teaching (KNIT), Bharat Nagar Talab Tillo celebrated Gurpurab. The students and the faculty participated in this function. The students recited the Gurbani and shabad-kirtan. The speakers impressed upon the students and others to follow the teachings of the Guru Nanak Dev. Director of the school Prof JL Kotwal and Principal were presented with ‘Saropa’ on the occasion. The key note address was delivered by Dr Baljeet Singh a senior faculty member.
Chander Bhaga High School Akhnoor celebrated Children’s day. The celebration started with fancy dress competition, followed by inter-house dance competition. More than 300 students participated in various fun games. In the end, the winners were awarded.
Gurpurab was celebrated at Rich Harvest School, Shastri Nagar. Tiny toddlers were dressed as Panj Pyara and recited Shabad. Children were made aware about the teachings of Guru Nanak by Tanvi Manhotra.
Ranbir Memorial School, Kirpalpur celebrated Children’s Day. The students performed cultural activities. Principal Rekha Slathia highlighted the importance of the day. Prizes were distributed among the students.
The Calliope School Doomi celebrated Children Day with pomp and show. Different competitions were held in which all the participants portrayed the best of their talents. Children attired as Jawahar Lal Nehru recited various poems and songs. They also spoke about the life and teachings of Jawahar Lal Nehru. Special Prizes to the children possessing special talents were also distributed. The programme was coordinated by the Priya Kohli and Bindu. School Principal Kiran Raina threw light on the importance of the day.
Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana celebrated Children’s Day. The day began with informative and entertaining programmes by the teachers. The students had got food item to share with under privileged children. Students were told about the importance of the day. Principal Anita Bhatia exhorted upon the students to follow the path of honesty and hard work as shown by Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. Ruchi Charak, Trustee of the school gave the message of peace and harmony to the students. The students and the staff also marked the Gurpurab. Gurbani was sung by Amandeep Kour in the assembly and students were enlightened about the golden teachings of Guru Nanak Dev.
KIDZEE celebrated Children’s Day and “Gurpurab at its Anand Nagar Bohri, Gandhi Nagar, Channi Himmat and Talab Tillo branches. The kids were dressed up in Chacha Nehru and Guru Nanak Dev. Demonstration was also given to the toddlers regarding the life of great personality Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru.
Nightingale Pre School celebrated Guru Nanak’s birthday with great enthusiasm and zeal in the school premises. Students of primary classes organized a skit projecting the life history of ‘Guru Nanak’–first Guru of Sikhs. Students also spoke about Guru Nanak Dev. ‘Shabad Kirtan and Paath’ were the main highlights of the event. Principal of the School, Sonia Jain in her speech advised the students to follow the teachings of Guru Nanak.
Sai Shyam Educational Society celebrated Children’s Day, wherein the students of Sai Shyam College of Education and Sai Shyam Public Higher Secondary School participated. The students threw light on the life and achievements of Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru. A cultural programme was held. Chairman of the society, CL Tickoo, Principal of the school Anita Raina and Principal of the college Dr Usha Tickoo were also present on the occasion.
