JAMMU, Aug 28: Various educational institutions celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with pomp and show.
The students of MHAC Nagbani took out a rally to celebrate Raksha Bandhan, which was flagged off by Principal Alok Betab of the institution. The girls students visited BSF Paloura where they tied Rakhi to the DIG BS Kasana, officers and jawans. Later, the girls visited District Police Lines, where they were given a hearty welcome. The girls tied Rakhis to the police men and distributed sweets.
Luthra Public School, Talab Tillo and Shamrock Angels celebrated Raksha Bandhan. On the occasion, students from various classes of the school spoke on the significance of the day. An inter house painting competition on the theme of Raksha Bandhan was organized, followed by cultural items and kite flying competition. Principal Sanjeev Luthra spoke about the importance of the day.
Raksha Bandan festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour at SOS Hermann Gmeiner School. Variety of programmes was presented by the students like speeches, group songs, dances etc.
Dogra Higher Secondary School celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival. The girls tied rakhies to the boys of their classes. A cultural programme was also held on the occasion. Davinder Kour, Principal and Nirmal Koul, Vice Principal apprised the students about the importance of the day.
Delhi Public School, SMVDU, Katra celebrated Raksha Bandhan by conducting a special assembly, in which the students participated enthusiastically. The function started with the lighting of traditional lamp by RK Verma, Principal and Vandna Sharma, Headmistress. Children performed variety of programmes.
MV International School celebrated the Raksha Bandhan festival. The students tied Rakhies on the wrists of the saviours of the nation at a forward location of 23 Sikh Battalion. An Inter House Kite Flying and Thali Decoration Competition were also organized.
Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at Jammu Sanskriti School by organizing a special assembly, where children presented beautiful song and skit. Rakhi making, kite decoration and kite flying activities were the main highlight of the day. Students also visited SOS Balgram and tied the Rakhi’s made by them to the inmates of the Balgram. Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson of the School, Rohini Aima and Chairperson Harpreet Singh Anand were also present.
To celebrate Raksha Bandhan, a Rakhi making and kite flying competitions were held at Vishwa Bharati Public Higher Secondary School. The students who were declared best rakhi makers were Sukhpreet Singh (5th B), Aastha Pandita (6th A) and Kanshika (4th B). The boys from class 6th to 8th participated in Kite flying competition. Raman Sharma and Ankit Verma, both of class 6th B were declared first and second respectively by the senior teacher Joginder Singh.
JK Montesorrie British School and its affiliated unit JK Little Millennium celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival. Students of classes Ist, 2nd and 3rd organized a special event to educate children about the significance of the festival by presented a stage show. The programme also witnessed Rakhi making competition. Managing Director of the school Sanjeev Gupta, Director Academics Rajni Gupta, Vice Principal Geeta Dixit and staff members were also present.
SM Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Patta Bohri, celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival. Managing Director Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer Harvinder Singh Sihotra, Principal Manikarnika Bhasin, Co-ordinator Kawaljeet Kour and staff members were present on the occasion.
Rakhi making contest was held at the junior wing of Project Model Higher Secondary School to celebrate Raksha Bandhan festival. The students made colourful rakhis from the material easily available at home. An informative session about the history and values of Rakhi festival was also organized. Kite flying contest was also organized on the occasion.
Little flower Higher Secondary School, Greater Kailash organised kite making and rakhi making competitions to celebrate Raksha Bandhan and Janamashtami festivals. Students from class 1st to 10th participated in the competitions. Children displayed their talents by making beautiful kites and rakhis.
Dewan Devi Playway/ Higher Secondary School celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival. Students took part in variety of cultural activities. Rakhi Making competition was also held. Students prepared beautiful rakhies to be tied on their brothers’ wrist. Chairman of the school Subhash Chander Suri addressed the students.
National Model Academy, Kail Paldhai celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival by organizing Rakhi making competition. Managing Director Nirmal Kesar and School Administrator Officer Dr Neeraj Kesar apprised the students about the importance of the festival.
Rakhi making, card making and kite making competitions were held at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School (BVM) Udhampur. The students made beautiful rakhies depicting feeling of love and affection between brothers and sisters. Principal and staff members highlighted the importance of the festival.
Elite Public High School, Om Nagar, Udheywalla celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival by conducting special assembly. On the occasion, students presented their views highlighting the importance of the day. The students also participated in rakhi making competition. The students of SD Tara Puri Public High School, Gandhi Nagar celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival. A special Assembly was arranged by Perfection House, wherein student of higher classes threw light on the importance of the festival. Student of class 1st and 2nd came in colourful dresses. Secretary of the School Ram Lal Sharma and Principal Neeru Puri threw light on the importance of festival.
To celebrate Raksha Bandan festival Bharatiya Vidya Mandir (BVM) High School Ramban organized a special event. ZRP Ramban, Pawan Kumar was the chief guest. Different classes tied Rakhis on the wrist of prominent citizens of Ramban. In house painting competition was also organized. Principal BVM High School Pardeep Kumar Thakur was also present on the occasion.
To celebrate Raksha Bandhan, Crescent Public School organized a solo dance and card making competitions on the theme of Rakhi. Students participated in the competitions enthusiastically. Principal Bhavna Kaushal, Director Pankaj Jamwal, Coordinators Kiran Zutishi and Alpana Dhar Pandita were also present on the occasion.
Shiksha Niketan High School, Gandhi Nagar celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival, in which students of different wing participated and presented cultural items.
Wonder World School, Trikuta Nagar and Gandhi Nagar also celebrated Raksha Bandhan. The importance of this day was emphasized and children tied Rakhi to each other.

Inter-house rakhi making competition was also organized on the occasion, in which CV Raman House emerged winner. In kite making competition, Darwin house emerged winner.
RM Public School organised rakhi making competition to celebrate Raksha Bandhan festival. On the occasion special guest ita Mengi appreciated the effort of the students and the event organiser Radhika and Beenu.
Sunrise Public School a unit of Sunrise Educational Trust celebrated Rakhsha Bandhan festival in Channi-Himmat. More than 35 children participated in the function.

Little Millennium celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival at Roop Nagar and Gandhi Nagar branches. The Children dressed in colorful ethnic outfits tied Rakhi to each other and participated in Rakhi making competition.
Raksha Bandhan festival was celebrated at Euro Kids, Trikuta Nagar. A special assembly was conducted on the occasion. The children sung different songs and also danced on them.
Lord Mahavira Playway School celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival by organizing a rakhi making competition. In the competition, the students participated with passion and made rakhies with the help of their mothers. Principal Madhu Sharma distributed prizes among the winners.
