Educational institutions celebrate Ram Naomi, Dussehra

JAMMU, Oct 11: Various educational institutions celebrated “Dussehra” with pomp and show.
Delhi Public School organized a special assembly to aware the children about the importance of Durga Asthmi, Ram Naomi and Dussehra. On the occasion, a cultural programme comprising devotional songs, animating skits and dances were presented by the students. Principal S Sonar highlighted the symbolic significance of the festival. Headmistress Ruchi Chabra was also present.
Dussehra was celebrated at Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public Higher Secondary School, Kunjwani. A symposium was held, in which students participated actively. Attired in colourful dresses, students enacted “Ram Leela” play. Principal of the school Gurtaj Singh and Prof Harbans Singh, Chairman threw light on the importance of the festival.
The students of KC Gurukul Public School presented skits, songs and dance to depict the significance of Durga Ashtami and Dussehra. Chairman Arvind Mahajan, Principal Dr BR Dogra, Headmistress Mamta Singh were present on the occasion. Principal of the school threw light on the significance of the festival. The programme was organized by the teachers Jyoti Kumari and Radhu Gupta.
Xavier Public High School, Nagrota Cantt celebrated Dussehra festival with pomp and show, in which faculty members, students and their parents participated. On the occasion, play “Ramayana” was enacted, followed by burning the effigy of “Ravana”.
Lord Mahavira Playway School celebrated Dussehra with pomp and show. Students were dressed as Lord Ram, Lord Lakshman, Goddess Sita and Lord Hanuman. Later, statue of Raavan was lit. Principle Madhu Sharma highlighted the importance of the day.
All the children, staff and teachers of Sanfort celebrated Dussehra by burning the effigy of Raavan. Children dressed up in different character from the epic of Ramayana. Children were made to understand the significance of Dussehra by narrating and dramatizing the story of Ramayana on the stage.
Students of Apple Kids, Sainik Colony, celebrated Dussehra with enthusiasm. Children were dressed in the characters of Ram Lila. Effigy of Raavan was also burnt to depict the victory of good over evil. Principal Veena Aswal highlighted the importance of the day.
Ram Naomi was celebrated at Nightingale Pre School. Children were dressed up in different attires depicting characters of Ramayana. The programme started with bhajan, followed by skit depicting the story of Lord Rama. The effigies of Raavan, Meghnath and Kumbhkaran were also set on fire. Neerja Bhasin and Arti, teachers won prizes for best Rangoli making during the week long celebration. Principals Sonia Jain and Priyanka Kapoor narrated the story of Lord Rama to the children in Rehari and Channi Himmat branches respectively. On the occasion Jammu Poonch Parliament Contituency Incharge BJP Yudh Veer Sethi and Chairperson and Founder Priya Sethi were also present.
