JAMMU, Oct 31: Various educational institutions observed the 139th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Divas).
To commemorate birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Divas), Central University of Jammu (CUJ) organized various functions. Officiating Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Deepak Raj Gupta motivated the students, faculty, Deans and non-teaching staff for having a strong will and determination, which were the forte of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The National Unity pledge was administered by Prof NR Sharma, Dean Students’ Welfare, which was followed by the ‘Run for Unity’ in which the deans of various schools, heads of the departments, Registrar, Jit Singh, Senior Consultant, Dr PS Pathania, Consultant, Dr VK Gupta, OSD (Finance), HK Prashar, Security Officer, Lt Col (retd), DS Trehan, faculty, students and non-teaching staff of the University participated. A documentary film was screened and photo exhibition was also arranged on life and works of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. CUJ also organized a symposium on the life of Sardar Patel at Government Higher Secondary School, Raya wherein the students from primary, secondary and higher secondary schools participated.
As part of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, being observed today to commemorate the 139th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Run for Unity campaign was organised at the University of Jammu by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu. Prof RD Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu highlighted the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Later Prof RD Sharma flagged off and also led the Run for Unity. Earlier Prof Manoj Dhar, Registrar, University of Jammu and Coordinator of the function delivered the welcome address. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof Pankaj K Srivastava. Among others Deans, Directors, faculty members, officers, staff, scholars and students participated in the Run for Unity.
The NSS units of Government Degree College Udhampur observed ‘National Unity Day’ to commemorate the birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Principal Prof SS Bhalwal addressed the students. Later, the student and staff participated in Run for Unity.
Government Degree College, Kathua observed Rashtriya Ekta Divas to pay tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. In this connection a ‘Run for Unity’ event was organized in the morning which started with a pledge administered to college students and staff by Prof PK Rao. Principal Dr BL Gupta flagged off the run.
Government Degree College Budhal observed Rashtray Ekta Diwas. On the occasion, a rally “Run for Unity” was organized from the Principal chamber to the conference hall in which all staff and students of the college participated, followed by seminar on the importance of the day and oath taking ceremony. Principal Dr Shakeel Ahmed Raina in his presidential address highlighted the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
National Unity Day was observed in shape of rally which was organized by 2 J&K Bn NCC Jammu under the leadership of Capt Karan Singh Bhau Associate NCC Officer of Assistant Prof in Physics of GDC Paloura. Before starting the rally all the participants took oath for unity and solidarity of Nation. The rally started from Parade Ground and culminated at Dogra Chowk.
Government MAM College observed National Unity Day. The students of the college participated in the pledge ceremony. Speaking on the occasion Principal, Dr Anita Sudan exhorted the students to work whole heartedly for creating communal harmony between various strata of the society.
Government Degree College (GDC) Samba observed “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The college organized march past of NCC (Armed) and NCC (Naval) wing. The NSS volunteers of the institution along with other students and staff took pledge regarding India’s unity, safety and security. Incharge Principal Prof MS Pathania highlighted the contributions of Sardar Patel.
Government PG College Rajouri observed the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Dr JA Qazi, Principal of the institution in his inaugural speech highlighted the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The entire NCC Unit of the college performed the march past.
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as National Unity Day, Government Degree College for Women Kathua organized Run for Unity in which staff and students participated. On the occasion a pledge for unity of nation was also taken. Principal Dr Janak Singh Andotra threw light on life and contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Meanwhile, Additional District Election Commissioner Kathua G Prassanaswamy and her team organized SVEEP awareness programme in collaboration with GDC Women Kathua for the students.
Government Degree College (GDC) Bishnah organized a function to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel under the guidance of Dr Alka Sharma, Convener Cultural Committee. Proceedings of the programme started with oath taking ceremony by staff and students. Prof Kalpana Kesar, Principal in her address highlighted the vision and actions of Sardar Patel.
A function was organized by Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Degree College, Hiranagar on the occasion of National Unity Day. An oath taking ceremony was organized, in which staff and students took part. Principal of the College Prof Sohan Lal Bhagat asked the participants to spread the message of unity among the society.
PG College, Bhaderwah observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. Principal Dr RK Raina highlighted the achievements of Sardar Patel. The programme was coordinated by Prof PK Chib, Programme Officer, NSS unit of the College.
NSS Unit, NCC and Student Union Wings of GCW Parade observed National Unity Day as Rashtriya Ekta Divas to commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary. The National unity pledge was administered by the students and staff of the college. This was followed by “Run for Unity”, which was flagged off by Principal of the College Prof Hemla Aggarwal. The Programme was coordinated by the NSS Programme Officer Prof Shivali Gupta and NCC Coordinator Prof Suman Lata.
NCC and NSS Units of Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu observed National Unity Day. NCC Cadets of J&K 1st and 2nd Girls Battalion and NSS volunteers of college organized a programme and “Run for Unity” on the occasion. The programme started with pledge. Principal Dr Kiran Bakshi, Capt Geeta, Adm Officer and Officiating CO NCC, Major Ranjit Singh, Naik Kumar Hem Chandra and GCI Madhu highlighted the achievements of Sardar Patel.
NITS Polytechnic, Indira Nagar, Miran Sahib, Jammu observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) wherein a large number of students and faculty members of various departments of the institute participated with enthusiasm and gusto to commemorate the 139th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Speaking on the occasion, Director of the institute, Satvinder Gupta highlighted the contribution made by Sardar Patel towards India’s unity, safety and security.
Taawaish College of Education, Channi Rama, Jammu today observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to commemorate 139th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the college premises. Chairperson of the college, Pooja Malhotra was the chief guest on the occasion, who while highlighting the importance of the. Debate competition was organized in which Sapna Kumari, Sunita Kumari and Samiksha Kalra claimed first, second and third position respectively.
National Unity Day was celebrated at Vaishno Group of Colleges to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. College Principal, AK Khajuria was the chief guest on the occasion, who felicitated the winners of the poster making competition organized on the occasion. The aroma was filled with patriotism and affection towards the nation.
NSS Unit of Luthra College of Education celebrated National Unity Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, today. On the occasion, students spoke on the life history of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The proceedings of the function were held under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer Upasana Sharma.
Adarsh College of Education, Tagore Bridge NH Samba organized an awareness programme on Unity, Safety and Security on the eve of birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. The students made the people aware about the traffic rules and regulations, environmental pollution, water conservation, human safety etc.
Sant Mela Singh College oF Education celebrated 139th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Home Minister of Free India. In this connection, a symposim was organized on the topic ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel-An Icon of Unity, Safety and Security’. Those who spoke on the occasion were Chairman of the College, Prof Anmol Singh, Principal Dr Kiran Luthra, Prof Jasmeet Kour, Prof Anju Sudan, Prof Paramjeet Kour and Anuradha.
Sai Shyam College of Education Ghou-Manhasan organized a seminar on the importance of National integration and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. While speaking, HK Kitchloo, senior Lecturer threw light on the life and achievements of this great leader. The students viz Ravi Kumar, Rajinder Singh and Suman Bhagat spoke on the importance of National integration for maintaining National Unity and harmony.
Ramisht College of Education Basohli organized a programme today to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel,who unified the country. The students of the college offered heartiest tributes to Sardar Patel, the Iron man of the Country. The students took pledge to dedicate themselves to preserve Unity, Integrity and internal Security of the nation.
On the occasion of birth anniversary of ‘Iron Man of India’, who was also the first Home Minister of India, a ‘Run for Unity’ was conducted today in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Ghou Manhasan (Jammu). Principal of the school, JR Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, exhorted upon the staff and students to follow the path shown by the great leader. The students enthusiastically participated in ‘Run for Unity’ displaying placards eulogizing the unity among all the citizens of the country.
On the eve of National Unity Day, a pledge taking ceremony was also held in the premises of GHSS Jakh (Samba). The ceremony was presided over by In-charge principal, Senior Lecturer Sudesh Sharma and was organized by NCC wing of the school under the guidance of NCC officer, Gulshan Sharma. All the staff members and students took the pledge for the unity and integrity of the Country.
To celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, the NCC Cadets of Boys Higher Secondary School, Samba of Unit 1 J&K Armed Sqn NCC Jammu took pledge and also participated in ‘Run for Unity’ in the school playground. The principal of the school, Narinder Singh Sambyal while addressing the students highlighted the role of Sardar Patel in uniting India.
A programme on National Unity was organized in the premises of GHSS Durang to celebrate birth anniversary of first Home Minister of Independent India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The programme was organized by NCC officer of the school, Mulkh Raj Sharma. All the NCC troops along with NCC officer and principal, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta took pledge for maintaining unity of the country.
On the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a special assembly was organized by KC International School (KCIS) in which talk was presented to highlight the life of great leader, his work and values towards nation. Painting and collage making competitions was organized on diverse themes ranging from Patriotism, Unity, Safe Environment, etc. A documentary on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was also shown to the students. Later, Kanchan Bala, Deputy Director, Sports, who was the chief guest, flagged off ‘Run for Unity’ in which a number of schools like KCIS, GD Goenka Public School, Heritage School, APS Domana, JK Public School, Kunjwani, participated.
On birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, more than 800 students of Heritage School took an oath and reiterated the ethos of Sardar Patel to fight against dividing forces and stand for a United India before venturing on a ‘Run for Unity’. The run was flagged off by Jagdish Singh Dhami, principal of the school. In a special assembly, the students were enlightened about the invaluable contributions of Sardar Patel followed by a poem, created from his famous, inspiring thoughts.
KC Public School celebrated birth anniversary of Sardar Patel as National Unity Day. A special assembly was conducted to mark the momentous event during which speeches on contributions of Sardar Patel were presented by the students. Poster-making, Rangoli-making competition were also organized on the occasion. The chief guest, Jasbir Singh, Prof of Economics from Jammu University, administered pledge of National Unity Day to staff and students of the school. Later, “Run for Unity” was also flagged off by the chief guest in which besides students, principal and staff members also participated. The day-long event concluded with National Anthem.
The staff and the students of GD Goenka Public School, Jammu today celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas in the school premises. There was a special morning assembly conducted by the students of class XI. The students presented various genres of the programme which was a pleasure to watch. A short skit about unity was staged. The central theme of the skit was to educate and enlighten people up about brotherhood and not get caught up with religion. Principal, Dr RP Singh, acknowledged the efforts of the students and their teachers. The Assembly concluded with patriotic song, “Saare Jahaan Se Aacha Hindustaan Hamara” and the National Anthem.
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was observed today at KV Bantalab. Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Region, AVLJ Rao, was the chief guest. He garlanded the portrait of Sardar Patel. This was followed by administering pledge to the students and staff. In his address the chief guest threw light on the very stature of the great visionary and emphasized the need to inculcate moral values among students. An impressive and colorful program comprising of speeches, skit, dance, etc, marked the occasion.
KV No 1, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu today observed ‘Ekta Diwas’ at its campus to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. A special assembly was conducted in which TR Choudhary, principal of the Vidyalaya along with teachers garlanded the picture of visionary leader. An oath was also taken by the staff and students for the unity of the people of the country. Students read out various articles to commemorate the role of Sardar Patel in the struggle for Independence and to raise a new united India after Independence. Later, “Run for Unity” was also conducted in the premises of the Vidyalaya.
National Unity Day was enthusiastically celebrated today in the campus of KV Rajouri. First of all a pledge of unity was administrated to all the students and teachers by the principal, AK Tyagi, who later highlighted significant contribution of Iron Man in the National Integration. A unity run was also held where students and teachers participated enthusiastically.
BSF School celebrated 139th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ in the school campus as a mark of tribute to the efforts of the country’s first Home Minister to unite India. A floral tribute was paid to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by chief guest, Rakesh Kumar Sharma, IG BSF, Jammu FTR. A group of about 500 students participated in the programme from all the reputed schools of the State. To begin with, National Unity Day pledge was administered to all by principal, Dr SS Khokhar. Thereafter run for unity was organized, which was flagged off by chief guest. Various competitions including debate competition, quiz programs, poster making, collage making, were organized.
Jammu Sanskriti School celebrated birth anniversary of Sardar Patel as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’. The day started with the pledge of unity taken by the principal cum vice chairperson, Rohini Aima along with the students. Various activities like colouring, craft, slogan writing were organized on the occasion. ‘Run for Unity’ was also conducted in which all the students as well as staff members participated.
Government High School, Pouni celebrated National Integration Day on the eve of birthday ceremony of Sardar Vallahabbhai Patel. The program was organized under the guidance of Ashok Kumar Sanyal, CEO Reasi, Darshan Lal, principal DIET, Reasi and Anwar Hussain Choudhary, ZEO Pouni. Sanjeev Kumar, CPR, was the resource person on the occasion who threw light on the life and contribution of Sardar Vallahabbhai Patel. Meanwhile, students and teachers also took pledge to maintain security and integrity of the country.
