Educational tour to Mumbai flagged in

Mendhar, Sept 22: An educational tour for students from Mendhar area in district Poonch (J&K) to Mumbai and Pune was flagged in by Brigadier A Sengupta, Commander, Bimber Gali Brigade today.
The 10-day tour was organised by Mendhar Battalion of B G Brigade under the aegis of Ace of Spades Division. The tour was aimed to give an holistic exposure to the students of Mendhar to the rich cultural heritage and diversity of our great nation as also to some of the finest educational institutions of India by travelling from the northern most State of Jammu and Kashmir to the State of Maharashtra.
The students visited some of the most famous centres of educational value, economic, information technology, science, places of tourist importance, like Gateway of India, Taj Hotel, Mumbai University, Marine Drive, Haji Ali Dargha, Nehru Planetorium, Elephanta Caves, Bandra-Warli Sea Link, Naval Station Colaba, INS Vikrant in Mumbai.
The itinerary included visit to NDA Kharakwasla, which gave them the glimpse of Army life, Aga Khan Palace, Air Force Station Lohegaon (Pune), AIT Pune and Film Television Institute of India in Pune. The tour provided a golden opportunity to the students to witness and experience the society outside the State and widen their horizons regarding the cultural and linguistic diversity, rich history, industrial development, economic might and varied geography of our great nation.
