Effective monitoring in place to oversee project implementation: Sham

JAMMU, Nov 4: Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma today said that an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in the implementation of the development works in the state and sought  cooperation of public in this regard.
This was stated by the Minister during his visit to the construction site of school and hostel for General Nursing MIDWIFERY School, Government Ayurvedic Medical College-cum-Hospital and 100-beded Sub District Hospital at Akhnoor.
The   Ayurvedic College being constructed at a cost of Rs.25.80 crore has registered an expenditure of Rs.6.19 crore till date, while the Nursing College   being constructed at Rs. 5.35 crore has recorded an expenditure of Rs.2.70 crore.
Similarly,   Rs.2.50 crore have been spent on the construction of SDH Akhnoor against an estimated cost of Rs.33.36 crore.
Mr. Sham said that participation of the people as well as public representatives was imperative for need based and all round development of their areas. He    said that acceptance of the justified demands and taking right action to redress the grievances of the common people is important ingredient in the public delivery system of Central and State Government. He said that various measures aimed at ameliorating the lot of weaker sections of the society have been  initiated during the last few years which are showing visible impact on the ground.
The Minister instructed the concerned executing agency Housing Board to complete all the projects within stipulated time frame by using quality material adding Government has resolved to provide concrete assets to the people across the state.
Mr. Sham also instructed the concerned officers to construct a deep drill tubewell in the upcoming Sub District Hospital.
He said that present Government is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of the state. He appealed the people to cooperate with the executive agency in upcoming prestigious projects being executed under various schemes.
