SRINAGAR, Sept 9: A teleconsultation service for the patients called ‘Dial a Doctor’ was today launched to provide medical advice to those in need amid pandemic.
A toll-free number 18008892729 was put out by a social organization ‘Ehsaas International,’ which said that at least 300 doctors around the world will be available to provide any sort of medical assistance to the patients.
The concerned said that once a caller calls in, all the issues will be noted down and the suitable doctor will be calling back the person who called in.
“The hospitals are the high-risk places where there are chances that a person might contract the infection, so, by this service, people will not have to visit the hospitals,” Ehsaas said.
They said that the team at the back end will also take care of the follow-ups and other things if need be.
“It is meant to reduce the pressure on the hospitals and also try to help the people who have become a bit more cautious particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic,” they said.
They also said that initially when there was a shortage of PPEs and other safety gears, they jumped in and tried to do their bit. “Now, we feel that this is the need of an hour and the Kashmiri doctors who are living around the globe and even those who in J&K wanted to help,” they said.
