Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, Jan 4: In connection with celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammed besides the Seerat Conference, impressive processions were taken out by members of Muslim community from various areas here today.
A grand Seerat Conference was held at Central Idgah Residency Road, here under the auspices of Anjuman Islah-ul-Muslimeen Jammu in which the scholars of repute from within and outside the State participated.
The programme started in the morning with recitation of verses from holy Quran by Hafiz Abdul Razak. This was followed by Naat by Mehraj-ud-Din. The function culminated in the evening. Moulana Abdul Karim Nadvi delivered the lecture on the teachings of Prophet Muhammed and stressed on eradication of social evils.
Another scholar Dr Syed Kalbe Sadiq, vice president All India Muslim Personnel Board threw light on the life of Prophet Muhammed.
He said that Islam teaches peace, brotherhood, and tranquility and stressed for acting on the teachings of Islam, maintaining peace, prosperity and brotherhood while living in multi religious and multi lingual society.
Maulana Rehmatullah from Bandipora threw light on the different aspects of Seerat. Maulana Showkat Ali from Dev Bund (UP) and other scholars also threw light on teachings of Islam. They asked the gathering to follow the teachings of Islam strictly. The programme concluded with prayers for peace and harmony in the country.
Meanwhile hundreds of Muslims drawn from different parts of Jammu participated in the processions taken in connection with the Eid Milad-un-Nabi in different parts of the City. One procession was taken out in Janipur area while another in Bhatindi. The processionists attired in white dresses were reciting verses from holy Quaran enroute.
An impressive procession on the occasion of Eid Milad –un-Nabi was taken out in Rajouri also. The procession started from Talab Masjid Bus Stand and it passed via Gujjar Mandi, Main Bazar and culminated at Eidgah where the religious scholars highlighted the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
The district administration had also made elaborate arrangements for the programme.
Impressive procession on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi was taken out from Dawat-e-Islamia Madni Markz –e-Dhaki Sakhi Maidan Mendhar. A large number of Muslims drawn from different parts of Mendhar participated in the procession which covered distance of five kilometers and culminated at Dawat-e-Islamia Madni Markz Dhaki.
The procession was led by Moulana Mohammed Mushtaq Atri and he was accompanied by Moulana Mehmood Ahmed Attari. Another procession was taken from Jama Masjid Mendhar and later a grand congregation was held at Jama Masjid where Imam of Jama Masjid Maulana Mohammed Ayub Nakshbandi and Maulana Mohammed Sultan Nakshbandi threw light on the significance of the day in Islam. The procession concluded at Bus Stand Mendhar.
The Eid Milad-un-Nabi was also celebrated with full religious fervour and gaiety in Bhadarwah, Doda, Kishtwar and Poonch towns where the people took out religious processions and also held congregations in which the Islamic scholars threw light on the life and teachings of Prophet of Islam.
A grand procession was taken out in Reasi also, which was led by Shabeer Magrey, Haji Mushtaq Ahmed and Kamar-ud-Din. The processionists were riding on camel backs and it passed through various areas of market before culminating in a religious congregation.
