Eid-ul-Azha celebrated with religious fervor, gaiety across Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 22:  Like other parts of the country, Eid-ul Azha was celebrated with full religious fervor and gaiety across the Jammu region today with people offering Namaz at various Eid Gahs and mosques of the region.
In Jammu biggest congregation was held at Eid Gah, Residency Road here where hundreds of people drawn from different parts of city and outskirts offered special Eid Namaz and held prayers for peace and prosperity of the State and country.
On the occasion special prayers were also held for restoration of normalcy in the flood ravaged Kerala by the people. The Imam Anayat Ullah who led the Eid prayers at Eid Gah Residency road said that special prayers were held for peace and prosperity of the State and country.

There was lot of hustle and bustle around the Eid Gah with Muslims attired in white dress entering the Eid Gah to participate in Eid Namaz. They were seen exchanging Eid greetings and embracing each other. The members of Hindu, Sikh and Christian communities were also seen greeting their Muslim brethren on the occasion of Eid and exchanging pleasantries to each other.
All the mosques in the city and outskirts including the bazaars were fully decorated on the occasion of Eid.
Talking to reporters outside the Eid Gah after offering Eid Namaz some prominent members of Muslim community said that they prayed for restoration of normal life in flood -ravaged Kerala State where people have suffered a heavy loss.
The Eid Namaz was offered in various other mosques of the City including Jamia Masjid Khatin Ka Talab, Jamia Masjid Ustad Mohalla, Jamia Masjid near Tawi bridge, Pir Mitha, Talab Tillo, Bantalab, Sunjwa, Bhatindi and other areas in outskirts of Jammu city where hundreds of Muslims offered special prayers on the occasion.
The reports of Eid celebration have come from other parts of the region also. Our Kathua Correspondent adds that Muslims offered special prayers in the Eid Gah of the town today and prayed for peace and prosperity in the State. The members of Hindu and Sikh communities including MLA Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia greeted the people on the occasion.
Eid was also celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety in Rajouri, Poonch, Samba, Reasi, Udhampur, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar districts today.
At Rajouri the biggest congregation was held at Jamia Masjid Rajouri where hundreds of members of Muslim community offered special Eid Namaz  and prayed for prevalence of peace and brotherhood. Eid Namaz was also offered at Thanamandi, Kalakote, Manjakote, Kote Ranka, Budhal, Dharhal and Nowshera towns of the district.
In Poonch biggest congregation was held in Eidgah Poonch where a large number of Muslims drawn from different parts of the city and outskirts offered Eid Namaz. The other places in the district where special Eid prayers were offered included Surankote, Mendhar,  Mandi and Loran.
Eid was also celebrated with great pomp and show in Udhampur, Reasi, Arnas, Gulabgarh,, Banihal, Doda, Bhadarwah, Kishtwar and other towns of the districts today.
At Ramban biggest congregation was held at Jamia Masjid Ramban, Eig Gah Gool, Eid Gah Batote and Eid Gah Banihal where large number of Muslim devotees performed special Eid Namaz and prayed for peace, development and prosperity of the State.
