Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated with zeal, fervor in Jammu

JAMMU :  Eid-ul-Fitr – marking the end of holy fasting month of Ramzan – was today celebrated with zeal and fervour in Jammu.
Thousands of members of Muslim community, this morning, offered prayers for peace in the state at Eidgah and Jamia Masjid.
The main congregation was held at Eidgah at Residency Road.    After prayers, Muslims greeted each other with hugs while members of Hindu community also wished their Muslim brothers on the occasion.
Bakery shops, eateries, cake shops were decorated and remained occupied with the visitors.
Children attired in colourful dresses, asked for ‘Eidi’ from the elders and relatives.
Reports from across the region said the festival was peacefully celebrated and prayers were also offered at different mosques.
Tight security arrangements were made across the region for smooth and incident free celebrations.
