LILLE, July 8: Eight people were injured early today when an armed man opened fire at a nightclub in northern France after being refused entry, emergency services said.
A source close to the police enquiry launched said that five of those hurt had suffered only minor injuries during the gunfire near the town of Cambrai.
It was not immediately clear whether the shooting took place inside or outside the Vamos discotheque, but afterwards the assailant fled in a car, the source said.
The incident came a week after a gunman shot dead two people at a nightclub in the main northern city of Lille, in an apparent revenge attack after he was kicked out of the establishment. (Agencies)
