Eight smugglers held, 87 bovines rescued

RAMBAN, June 1: Police here today under the supervision of SSP Ramban, Anuj Kumar has foiled bovine smuggling bids, arrested eight bovine smugglers, rescued 87 bovines and seized two vehicles involved in the crime.
Cops from Police Station Batote intercepted two vehicles and during checking found 10 bovines loaded in them in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally. Two persons were arrested in this regard.
In another instance, cops from Police Station Ramsoo during patrolling duty held one person who was taking eight bovines on foot towards Kashmir without any permission.
In yet another instance, cops from Police Station Gool arrested a man who was taking 11 bovines on foot towards Kashmir without any permission.
In one more instance, cops from Police Station Banihal arrested four persons who were taking 58 bovines on foot towards Kashmir without any permission.
Police registered cases in FIR No. 79/80 of 2024 at Police Station Batote, FIR No. 72/2024 at Police Station Ramsoo, FIR No. 44/2024 at Police Station Gool and FIR Nos. 89 and 90/2024 at Police Station Banihal under relevant Sections of law and started investigation.
