EJAC demands release of NHM employees’ salary

JAMMU, Jan 10: As the National Health Mission (NHM) employees enter their third month without salaries, the Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) vehemently demanded the immediate release of rightful wages/ salaries for these dedicated officers/officials of the Health Department.
The Jammu and Kashmir EJAC president Wajahat Durrani has expressed deep concern over the prolonged withholding of salaries, asserting that keeping the hard-earned and sole source of livelihood of these essential healthcare workers withheld for such an extended period is intolerable. The financial strain on these individuals, who are at the forefront of our health services, is not only unjust but also jeopardizes their ability to carry out their duties effectively.
EJAC spokesperson Mir Bashir said that Wajahat Durrani has urged for swift action to rectify this dire situation. The delay in salary disbursement not only affects the morale of the healthcare workforce but also hampers their ability to provide uninterrupted services to the community.
Durrani underscored releasing salaries is not merely a financial matter but a recognition of the invaluable contribution made by these healthcare professionals. The administration is implored to prioritize the welfare of its employees and act promptly to alleviate their financial distress. We trust that the concerned authorities will heed this urgent call and ensure that the hardworking individuals in the health sector receive their due compensation without further delay, ” he added.
